It is a very good and necessary specialty in dentistry. You will only work on the nerves of the teeth. Your business will be based on referrals only. General dentists who don't feel comfortable or don't care to work with endodontics will send their patients to you. Remember, these will be the hard cases that no one wants to do...lol. You will have the best equipment for the procedure, so to you it will be a piece of cake. Go for it! Oh, you also have to go to school a bit longer for any specialty.

Being an endodontist pays great, but it takes a special type of person...as it is super boring. You really don't get to see the results of your work...you really need to go visit one to see what I mean..

You should shoot to go to dental school first...chances are you may change your mind on what specialty you want to complete...just complete your DMD (or DDS) first!

I doubt youd ever have to worry about having work if you went into this field. I'd say more and more dentists refer people to endodontists all the time.

The first step is to get into dental school. While you are in dental school you will get to experience all the dental specialties first hand. That will make it easier to make a decision.

It is a long path, but worth it in the end. Good Luck.
