Hi !!!
I usually frost my brownies with the "Texas Sheet Cake Frosting"...Here it is...

"Texas Sheet Cake Frosting"

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk (whole, 2% or skim - doesn't matter)
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1 pound confectioners sugar, sifted (about 4 cups)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

Mix the milk and cocoa in a heavy saucepan (stir, stir, stir). Add the butter and, over medium heat, stir until the butter melts. Remove from heat and gradually stir in the sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add the pecans.

When the brownies are just out of the oven, spread the frosting evenly on them.

--------AT CHRISTMASTIME, I MAKE BROWNIES WITH THIS FROSTING...

Cream Cheese Frosting

8 oz softened cream cheese (room temp.)
1 stick butter or margarine
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp peppermint extract
Red food coloring
4-6 candy canes

Mix together cream cheese, butter, peppermint extract and powdered sugar until creamy. Pour a few drops of red food coloring into mixture and stir lightly with a spoon or knife, just enough to get streaks but not thoroughly blend the color. Spread thickly over brownies.

Put candy canes into a sandwich bag and crush by hammering lightly. (If you have a lot of pent up frustrations, go easy. You don't want candy cane powder!)

Sprinkle crushed candy cane over the top and press the pieces down lightly into the frosting. Chill to allow the frosting to set up. Serve to your favorite elves.

that is an easy one ..buy a very good "for baking only" dark chocolate and melt it in either a double boiler or in the microwave and just for a few minutes on med and keep a close eye on it either way.
