I know having a tan makes you look, and feel better about yourself. I also know that you won't be worrying about wrinkles just yet. At 14, your skin is healthy and will not have been damaged by too much av rays. But trust me - when you really start to worry is when you hit your 30's and the wrinkles appear. Too much sunlight or sunbeds ages your skin. Why do you think there are so many people having face lifts, botox and chemical peels? Because of the damage done when they were younger. I have quite a pale skin, and I too tried the sunbeds. After 5 session my face came out in prickly heat rash and started to swell up. I was due to go on holiday, and like you wanted to look good. The doctor told me I had become sensitive to the sun and I had to use total sun block for the next 5 years sue to the damage done. My cousin is a sunbed freak, and the result is she looks far older than her age due to the wrinkles she has. And the good news for me is I get taken for 5 years younger than I really am. Believe me, at my age, every bit help s. Whats wrong with all these spray tans that's all the rage? All the actresses and pop stars use them. Finally, you don't want to have skin cancer when your older either. Do you?

I'm a teenager (I started tanning at 14) and it is OKAY to tan! At Tan Co. you probably have to go with an adult (someone over 18) to approve it for you. Lots of people say that tanning can cause skin cancer - and this is true - IF you tan everyday and obsessively! When you start tanning, you will probably fill out a survey to find out your skin type and how likely it is to burn, so it doesn't harm your skin. When you start tanning, I would suggest that you use the STANDING tanning bed, because it is harder to get burned. Also - don't tan everyday! I usually go every other day or every third day. Enjoy having radiant skin!!!! ; )

Please stop using "like" in every sentence! I don't believe they let anyone tan under the age of 18. I wouldn't tan at 18 or 43 to be honest with you. It will make you age quicker and the risk for skin cancer is far to great these days. Try the sunless tanning lotions. If you use a good one, and use it carefully, they look nice. There are also those sunless tanning booths, but not sure the age requirement.

Tanning is very bad for your skin. What you do now may affect the health and the look and feel of your skin when you're an adult. But I'd assume that if you wanted to tan that young you might need to be accompanied by an adult. I think in a lot of states you have to get parental consent before you tan as a minor.

Beside the fact it is the leading cause of skin cancer, you should need an adult to sign for you to go to a tanning salon.
A less reputable salon may allow you to come in now. Be careful and work your way up- don't start with the strongest bed with the longest minutes. Avoid burning if you can.

You can tan at this age. My friend is going in the tanning bed and she's 12 like me. I say you can start going to the tan bed if you want around your age and hers.

Why do you need to fake and bake? Ask a friend who has a pool if you can come over and swim and tan. You can get just as much tan if you tan naturally.

Tanning , whether by sun or tanning bed is the same as roasting your body like the Thanksgiving Day turkey. I don't say this in gest, I'm saying it in hope of literally saving your skin. If you think I'm crazy, as a dermatologist, and he will verify what I just said.

The laws vary from state to state but many places you have to be 16 or if you are under 16 your parents have to sign a release. Many salons don't ask for proof for how old you are besides you saying you are 16.
