for most women I know me included a good personality can make a guy more attractive. For example if I give a guy a 5 on looks but get to know him and he's really sweet and nice he might become a 7 or 8 and therefore datable. is it the same for guys or not?

Yeah. Once you get to know a girl - if she is nice, intelligent and has personality - she becomes more attractive.

Looks may start the attraction but they wont last. The personality, the warmth, the interest in you and in what they have to sya will carry the realtionship much further and turn a 5 into an 8 !

A bad personality can make an attractive girl less attractive. I don't know whether or not a good personality would make an ugly or average girl more attractive in my eyes. That is because I don't give those girls the time of day. I'm way too good for them.

For me yes,although attraction is what usually leads me to the women,unless met at work or some other way other than the singles scene.Bottem line I would rather be with a women who has a great personality.

Personality is huge in deciding whether to get seriously involved with someone, but SOME attraction has to be there already...
On the other hand if a girl has great looks but a nasty personality, there's no chance whatsoever.

lol, not for me, if i like the girl, i'll just go into chat with her and having fun and if i really like her i'll ask her nicely for a date or something ;) and what happens next if it's a cool girl and i like the way she thinks and everything it's all right with her, obviously i'd want her, to be my gf. i just don't give notes for every girl that i see, it's just that not the first impression it matters, because it can be a good one and you are like holy crap she suddenly changed after the first impression or a bad one and then you'll be like hey this girl is not for me, you can never know how a girl can be.. seriouslly, girls can be tricky sometimes, but yeah hell yeah i really like having a convo with a girl and having her smiling at me or even laughing, because girls like that ;) and we boys we love acting stupid.. or tough or whatever just to impress her, but then again that's a big bullshit for me. it's just that i don't give notes for every girl that i like or to get involved with her or sumthing like that, if i like her i tell her straight on the face then chatting with her and if she likes me too, that's ok :) and there's dozens of things i can say about it, but i can't do it right now as i need to leave at the store lol alright.. have fun.

Some guys. Others place more on looks, most will be fair and if looks are so so and personality is great, they'll date you.

even if you don't get to know them, if you get a good vibe from them, looks are often not that important, to a point.
