The car is overheating. While it is in park, and at full stop, the car will rev and the dial on the r.p.m will go up to almost 6000. Also, yesterday it didn't want to start and I had to get a jump start. Any ideas on what could be causing this and what I can do to fix this.

Congrats to the first poster for driving a Chevy built in Mexico with Indian parts!_!

If I were you I would call and talk to a mechanic today before you do any damage to your Japanese (j/k, Korean) car. I really don't know what the problem may be, but reving that high and over heating is going to destroy your engine...so you better get it checked by a professional right now!

poor American guys, only know the crap they built jajaja Hyundai is a Korean car

for the start you have a bad battery but the alternator can be damage as well as your battery terminals so check them out

for the high rev that's an electronic failure to take to shop so they can use a scanner about 65-95$ for that and they will go exactly to the problem

In most cars I have seen, they are usually under the glove box. Your best bet is to go into autozone or an autoparts stare and look at a repair book for your car. You dont need to buy it, just look at it.

Hyundai has a 5 yr / 60,000 mile warranty. I'd call your local dealer ASAP, as long you are under 60k miles it'll be fixed free.
