I don't think you're ever too old to start doing something you really want to do. If you dedicate yourself to it you will be able to learn it to a good level. Of course, you don't have the advantage of learning it as a child, when you acquire new skills with more ease and them stick better, but you are still young and your brain is still soaking in new knowledge.
I take it you want to learn it as hobby and not to be a professional musician, so I just want to say go for it, please yourself as you only live once!

If you are looking to make it into a career, than you are a bit too old to be a professional violinist. Many people say the violin is the most difficult instrument to master, and I agree!

I think that if you wanted to be a professional pianist, you could probably do it, though you would have to work very hard.

But you are never too old to learn something just for the fun of it, so get started!

you're never too old! learning an instrument is wonderful, and it's something to show people, and something to show for when you get older. also, if you think that you're bad when you start, don't give up, just practice! Good luck!

No, you are not old! Its good to see that you want to learn a new skill. I was thinking of getting lessons for the piano. I have always been quite musical, and did GCSE Music at school.

Go for it and good luck!
