Because kids do not know any better and they could cut themselves easily. They do not really no what can happen to themselves because they are so young and they would not know for example scissors that they could cut them badly and make them bleed. Wow thats pretty sad that you would have to ask a question like that.

is this another question for your book? you should state that in the question...you'll get better answers.
Kids are reckless and clumsy, so if they are playing with sharp things they could accidentally hurt themselves, another child, a pet, etc. That's why our grade-school scissors had rounded edges and could barely cut paper...so we didnt accidentally cut ourselves!

because kids are kids (just like puppies)
They haven't got a clue whats right and what wrong
whats dangerous and what is safe practise
Training ... that's why we go to school and have parents

Oh I don't know ... Let me think about this one ... CAUSE THEY CAN BE SERIOUSLY HURT OR EVEN KILLED! DUH! WOULD YOU LET CHILDREN PLAY WITH A LOADED GUN?
