Nope. Key limes are much smaller and have a distinctive taste and aroma, along with much more concentrated acidity than Persian limes (i.e. the typical large limes). Contrary to popular belief, they're not exclusive to the Florida Keys, although they're definitely an unusual tropical item. Apparently they're not grown in the continental United States very much because of the aggressive nature of the trees.

I find key limes only at certain times during the year at health food stores, but almost all the time I can find them at Mexican markets sold in 1-pound mesh bags.

It is one variety of a lime, and very different from "normal" limes. The key lime is very small and very tart. It tastes
a bit more like a lemon than a lime. It is also more yellow than a "normal" lime.

if you like key lime, try keke lime (not sure on the spelling) It is a thick green drink that comes in a white and lime label at the liquor store. it is good by itself or mixed with something. also it has the consistancy of tequilla rose and as always use ice in your drinks!!
