My suggstion is to take a look at Acts 10 to help you understand.
New Testament. Really in scripture. Peter explains well what God reveals.
So before you suggest "disobey" - you might just want to check out this portion of scripture.
"I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters."

They mis examine, take out of context, do no longer examine the full situation properly , fail to bear in innovations what replaced into occurring at that element era in question and using be conscious and words. The Pharisees and Sadducee's have been complaining of the gospel/torah being shared with the unclean gentiles.That they(gentiles) mandatory to maintain each and all the pageant's, the regulations of moses,the circumcision. Paul mentioned that they gentiles) should not be judged for the hot moons, sabbaths, etc. Has no longer something by any ability to do with protecting The seventh Day Sabbath and the eating of in user-friendly terms the sparkling and keeping off the unclean. That it in user-friendly terms applies to the Hebrews, Israel, is an area of the old regulation, christians are below a sparkling covenant, the imaginative and prescient Paul observed of the animals dropped down interior the sheet replaced into pertaining to the sharing of the gospel with the gentiles. This Bible passage explains that certainty farther on interior the examining, besides the undeniable fact that that's handed over. All of this fake impact and misapplied counsel ameliorations no longer something of the Jew or Gentile....unclean animals the place created unclean and are nevertheless unclean, no longer something replaced that certainty!! anybody is attempting to make excuses for no longer following an uncomplicated consumer-friendly sense healthful nutrients plan it particularly is relatively sparkling interior the Bible.

After reading some of these answers, I am appalled!
First and foremost, there is only ONE "bible". It is called Torah.
Some of you stated that the book has been re-written, now called the New Testament. But, how can you read something such as that when there is only one. The OLD Testament is the true words of G-d.
The Jews and Christians are also forbidden from eating pork. Here is a quote from the Old Testament to that effect: "And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." Deuteronomy 14:8
Many Christians believe that this verse was directed only at the Jews. But Jesus himself says during the Sermon on the Mount; "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill."
Certainly, G-d is great enough to handle whatever we do. But, He has chosen to relate to us. In this way He is like a parent. He has given us a way to act, a way to elevate ourselves and the world.
There is a system of positive and negative energy in the world. The Torah is simply giving us the spiritually healthy path of positive energy.
AND...while I'm on the subject of PIG...
Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.
Now...would you eat pork?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for letting me vent. I don't care how many thumbs down I receive...because I believe in the true words of Torah.
Oh...btw...have a good day.
Vashsunglasses's answer is correct. But also...
After Jesus's resurrection, a new covenant was made with His people. Anyone can now reach God by following Jesus. The strict rules imposed in the Old Testament (and if you've read the Old Testament, they were VERY strict!!) are no longer necessary to get to heaven. This includes the "no pork" rule and the animal sacrifices.
Read the New Testament in addition to the Old, and all these things will begin to fall into place.
If you want the truth about the question, read the following passages and the surrounding passages to get the full meaning. If you don’t read all of the passages that affect this issue, you will misinterpret the Word of God.
Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Act 11:8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Act 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
In answer to the question ‘ why do they worship Jesus, when the Bible says worship God?’ Because Jesus is God in Word and in flesh. Read John 1:1 through 1: 14.
It says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
In verse 14, it says “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
If you read it carefully, you will see that Jesus is the living Word of God.
Because most Christians were not Jews. Eating pork was applicable only to gentiles that was converted to Christians. Reading Acts 10:9-22 if cleansed by God, unclean can be eaten. Even in the old testament in Genesis 9:3 after Noahs flood, any meat could be eaten except for its blood.
You can find a lot of interesting directions and phrases in the Bible. There are also a lot of interesting interpretations, depending on what is considered "important enough to obey at this particular moment in time" verses what is not considered important. As times change, so do these interpretations. Most would consider forbidding people from wearing a particular fabric is pure nonsense. Or to allow a husband to establish ownership over his wife and children by beating them into submission. Both these things can be found in the Bible and have been considered perfectly normal and acceptable by Biblical standards. But Biblical standards are certainly a far cry from our modern standards. THANK GOD
because they decided the jewish dietary laws no longer applied to them.
of course, the main reason pork was forbidden was because hogs and pigs eat bugs, snakes, and other meats, even those from some recently dead animals. when such are eaten, there is a definite possibility of it becoming tainted with the trichonosis bacterium.
if undercooked pork, infected with the bacterium is consumed, the disease known as elephantiasis developes. elephantiasis is the swelling of a limb, usually a leg, to such huge size as to be unbelievable.
sea food, other than fish, were also forbidden but for reasons other than infection. most non-scaled sea creatures are scavengers, as are many birds, and other wildlife of the region. since sheep and goats were vegetarian, and never known to eat any kind of meat or animal life, they, and all similar animals were considered clean to eat.
there was good reason to forbid certain types of food for human use. almost all were based on experience with the wildlife of the region, not because they couldn't serve as food, but because they could cause illnesses which were not treatable at the time. today, however, there are some who are muslim and jewish who do eat such things as ham and bacon, not because they don't believe in the dietary laws, but because they understand why they were established and realize they need not be so strict in their application under today's food standards.
knowing the cause, and having knowledge of how to avoid some infections that were not even understood then, has made most religious dietary laws of little or no need today.
Now you tell me why most of the Christians don´t follow the ten commandments? Why would some Muslims drink alcohol and feel comfortable? It´s just the way people choose to live.
Of course you will get answers form people that will try to justify otherwise. Especially those who claim, "we are Christians too and ...." Not only Judaism but also Islam forbids eating any parts of pig. So if SOME!! people
are not following their own religion than let it be their problem.
Christianity believes that the New Testament supercedes the Old Testament, and can therefore eat pig. According to Judaism, the New Testament is not sacred, and therefore Kosher is 100% intact.
For the person who answered
" you do not know your scripture..when a sheet came down from heaven with all sort of ediable creatures..GOD said they are NOW HOLY.
so pork is NOW HOLY to eat.
so GOD be wiser than us..we heed to abba.
so that we may be prosperous and have good success (joshua 1:8) " I don't think Joshua is a good source for you. Joshua 1:7-8 says "Just be strong and very courageous to observe and DO IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL OF THE TORAH THAT MOSES MY SERVANT HAS COMMANDED YOU. DO NOT STRAY FROM IT LEFT OR RIGHT IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY SUCCEED WHEREVER YOU GO. This book of the Torah shall not leave your mouth, you shall meditate it day and night, IN ORDER THAT YOU OBSERVE TO DO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN IN IT, FOR THEN YOU SHALL SUCCEED IN ALL OF YOUR WAYS."
