I'm expecting a baby and still living at home with mom and dad. it would be too costly to move out at this point because my partner and i are still in college. for this reason baby and i will be sharing a room. my bedroom is somewhat small and now i will have to put in a baby crib and other necessary things for the baby. i don't want the room to be cluttered and also baby safe. what are some good ways to maximize the space. The only thing i can think of is moving my television off of the floor and mounting it on the wall to clear up some floor space. What else can i do?

they have small scale cribs and they also have bassinets that can be nestled right next to the bed. These come with a side opening which will give you easy access to the baby especially at night. these also come with storage space below it. the baby can stay in that for at least 12 months easily. I like the co sleeper because it blends in with your bed and helps to create the illusion that room is not so cluttered. The idea of moving the TV is also a good idea. If you have the space in the closet, at one end add wall shelf unit and you can put baby things there as well. Also get some under the bed storage bins, this will also help.

You could get a changing pad and just secure it to your dresser top so you wouldn't need a changing table, and also you could free up some space in your dresser/closet for baby's clothes. Push your bed against a wall to free up some floor space and invest in under-bed storage containers. I suggest a thorough cleaning out of your room (put things you don't need but would like to keep in storage). You could have some shelves put on your walls, and you could buy one of those net-things that tack up in a corner of a room and put baby's stuffed animals in there to get them off the floor.
