Put your bible down for a moment. How do you know it's evil? How can you be so sure that it was GOD who said it was evil when in fact the Bible was written by man and not by God? How do you know these men who wrote the Bible are telling the truth? For all you know, they stuck that law in there because they were afraid of it. Afterall, when witches use to be burnt at the stake (that's if any of them were witches at all), the church burned them because they were afraid of what they could do, plain and simple. Have any of you actually done some research of the subject of Wiccan? I'm just curious about your answers. :)

Blessed Be

Only a person can be evil. People who think Wicca is evil are posturing about something they don't understand.

Blessed be.

Witchcraft or White Magick isn't evil. In truth Wicca used to be the primary guy-made faith on the earth. All different guy/lady made religions (that is they all) have used this as a stepping stone. Throughout the centuries men and women have further their possess ideas to kind different religions. There are many Wicca agencies in every single place on the earth. Use your internet seek and form in Wicca. It will give an explanation for all you have got to realize. I would upload that when you Christian you're going to end up an outcast if this curiosity is discovered. But competencies will have to now not be held from any individual with curiosity.

Hi Honey, I can put the bible down, because I don't believe in it.
I am a Witch, so naturally I don't believe nor do I accept that Witchcraft is evil. It is a loving, natural Spirituality.
I hope you do know that there is a difference between Witches and Wiccans, though.
I totally agree with your statement that the people who were put to death as witches were put to death because of the fear of the "church", but also because it had the added benefit of gaining the property of anyone who was found guilty of being a witch.

They will not really be able to answer you without reaching for the Bible. But the word "witch" means different things in many different contexts anyway. The Bible did not refer to the religion of Wicca as practiced today when it referred to witchcraft. I suppose that reference in the Bible has much more to do with evil sorcery and poisoning and this is suggested in the Hebrew language as well.

Why should you care if the Bible and Christians do condemn you anyway. If you are not a Christian and do not believe the Bible is the word of God. You can safely ignore it and go on with your life and be happy. The Bible has no hold on you if you do not believe it. I do not accept it as authoritative and I cannot care about what it has to say. I have gay friends and wiccan friends whom I can just accept.

Witchcraft isn't evil, but christianity sure is. The next time you Xians pray to your "god" ask him to reveal his true self, then you all will see that you've been worshiping your devil all along.

BTW: Kallen, the Maleus Maleficarum WAS totally sanctioned by the Pope himself. Xian love, what an oxymoron.

First you say put your Bible down and then you say the Bible is written by man and not by God. How do you know?

I know the Bible is God's word for several reasons:

1. I know the Author personally - simplistic but true.
2. I have prayed to God and told nobody else what I prayed and I prayed using the word of God to hold God to His promises found in scripture. He answered these prayers many times proving His word to be true.
3. I have seen the Word of God transform many lives in my 33+ years as a Christian including people from every and any
walk of life.
4. I have seen the word of God bring conviction on people who were not Christians so strong that it brought them to tears with the simplicity of the gospel, and they still rejected Christ because they wanted something more than they wanted eternal life in Him.
5. Throughout history there have been multitudes of attempts to discredit and destroy the Bible and yet the skeptics and the
critics have died and the Bible still goes on and on and on -- even more so than the Everready Bunny.
6. The Bible is the biggest and best selling book in the history
of mankind and there is nothing even close. This bestseller is
proven through archeology to be accurate, and more and more findings continue to verify it's accuracy and veracity.

Witchcraft is evil because God's word-the Bible says it is an abomination in His sight. Witches burned at the stake were not burned by "Christians" but religious zealots who didn't understand the word of God but used it to suit their own ends.
AND No real Christian is afraid of witches or anyone or anything else because we have the power of God behind us.

EDIT: I AM ALWAYS AMUSED AND SADDENED WHEN I SEE HANDS DOWN ON TRUTH. AMUSED BECAUSE IT IS SAID IN SCRIPTURE THAT SOME ARE WILLFULLY IGNORANT WHICH MAKES ME SMILE AND THINK OF GOD AND HIS GREAT WISDOM, AND SADDENED BECAUSE THEY ARE IGNORANT BY CHOICE.

This isn't going to help.
Conflating Wicca and Witchcraft to make the Christians kvetch is very immature.

Step AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER and go outside. Sit under a tree, smell the air, look at a bird, and then ask what you're doing with this nonsense?

If you think you're helping Wiccans, you're NOT.

YESTERDAY, you were a Christian! You don't know enough to be lecturing people!

The sad thing is they do not realize that a tool can netither be good nor evil. It is simply just what it is. The outcome can be a good one or bad but it depends on who's using it.

So while a knife can be used to cut vegetables and meat to prepare food to feed the hungry the same knife can be used to kill the chef. This principle also applies to witchcraft of any other spiritual science not practiced by religious people.

Evil for whom?

As a Christian I believe anything that separates man from God is evil. I don't know anything about witchcraft - but if it does, then it is.

Now, as a young Arab male of a certain persuasion, I might think anything that kept me from blowing myself up was evil. I'm kinda glad I'm not that.

Gotta know what we're talking about!

Since the Laws that govern this universe are the physical Laws of God......the Spiritual Laws of God govern this earth just as well. The Bible is the Word of God. Scripture is inspired in thought and word, infallible in the original writings, is the supreme and final authority in faith and in life, and is the foundation of all truth (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 10:35; 17:17).....So in answering your question, and because of this fact of the Bible of God and His inspired written Word......as a loving Father, God commands us to avoid things that can harm us. Concerning the spirit world, notice what God says to His people: "Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God" (Leviticus 19:31).

In addition to this command to avoid practices that pertain to evil spirits, God warned ancient Israel to avoid any kind of occult practices. "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives [the nations] out from before you" (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

God has called His people to a different standard. Instead of superstitions and myths, God tells us to look to Him for our blessings, direction and future. Superstition and consorting with evil spirits was a serious matter in ancient Israel with dire consequences (Leviticus 20:27).

God's love and commands apply to all. Saul, king of Israel, lost his life when he disregarded God's instructions. "So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance" (1 Chronicles 10:13).

Modern celebrations of Halloween may appear on the surface to be quite harmless, but the spiritual implications of dabbling with the spirit world are extremely serious. Fortune-telling, Ouija boards, telepathy, astrology, voodoo, clairvoyance, black magic and such can all be related to occult, satanic forces or the worship of natural phenomena and are forbidden in Scripture.

Jesus Christ tells us that "the first and greatest commandment" is to love our Creator "with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" (Matthew 22:37-38). God alone is the giver of life and all good things. To give recognition to false gods, and to imitate practices that honored them, is unacceptable and idolatrous.

well, sweetie, it's a nice try, but you aren't going to get christians to understand this at all.

The witch trials were born from the Maleus Maleficarum (The Witches' Hammer) which was not endorsed by the catholic church. It was an attempt to create hysteria against the local village healers (who were historically women in europe) and cause people to turn to the local priests for all of their needs, making them dependent upon the church. It had nothing to do with real witches.. and certainly the only person who could've been considered a witch in the Salem witch trials in the U.S., was Tituba.
