my car has an thing to play my ipod but i dont know how to use it?

in the instructions it says i need an adapter what do i do?

Many I pods have things available that play over the FM radio but that is not full digital quality. Other cars have a head phone jack at the radio just buy the white cord and plug it in. And others still have to have an adapter and you control your i pod with the steering wheel controls. We need your year make and model of car to best serve your questions. The last one gets expensive and usually available only at your car dealer.
