I have also tried condoms, and spermicides I have 2 planned children, I would like to use a birth control that is natural that would be safe for a nursing mother. I am nursing my 9 month old son. any suggestions?

Sorry should have added this I used the Mirena IUD, and it caused me to be really dizzy, and nauseated, also caused me to bleed heavily, I am still having irregular bleeding from it. we have decided to not use pull out method due to high rate of pregnancy and would like to have 1 more Child in the near future.

I used the birth control patch for a year and a half. The only thing is you can't use it while you are nursing. You could just use condoms until you stop nursing. I was on the depo shot and it made me have periods for 3 months straight. I liked the patch because it was easy to remember and it worked pretty well. And I became pregnant just 2 weeks after stopping it.

I have a copper IUD (which I love), but I'm having it out tomorrow becuase my husband and I are going to try for another child. Maybe I'm not the one to give advice to you, lol.

Seriously, I have the ParaGard (have had for 2 years now) and other than slightly heavier than normal cramping/bleeding for the first few cycles, my period is fine. It does last *slightly* longer than it used to, but it's only spotting (no need to use a pad/tampon). I like it because it's non-hormonal and won't mess with your system, and there's no "waiting period" after having it removed like there is with hormonal birth control (wheter it's Mirena, the pill, depo, etc.) It's also safe for nursing mothers. I don't know if it would have the same effect on you that Mirena did or not. I guess there's only one way to find out!

I dont know what kind of IUD you used, but the Mirena is the safest and most effective form of birth control on the market. It has less of a pregnancy rate than getting your tubes tied, yet if you wish to get it removed, your fertility returns to normal immediately. It also has the lowest risk of side effects than another other birth control. Definetly DONT get the shot. Its very dangerous and only 92% effective.

You can also go the condom and spermicide route. It can be a pain in the butt though, and not as effective.

It's called ENCARE or something like that. We used to call it a "bullet." It is a spermicide that comes in a bullet shape. You put it in about 10 minutes prior to sex.
I can't think of anything else that you haven't used. Pull out method works well, as does planning to not have sex during ovulation time. With those 2 things combined, the chances of getting pregnant is slim.
If you don't want to get pregnant, but getting pregnant would be "ok," try the above. After our first kid, we did that method for 8 months and it worked. Then, when we decided to go for number 2, I didn't have to get anything removed or stop taking pills.
If you are all done with kids, get your husband fixed.

Why not give the deposhot a try you get one every 3 months and it is safe to use will nursing a baby. Not only that it keeps you from ovulating at all and that means not having to go through a monthly cycle. But when you do decide you may want another child and stop taking the shot it may take a little while until you do become pregnant

"Pull out method works well" Oh yeah it really works well I know a family with 12 children who used the pull out method. She had 15 pregnancies and 12 live birth...yeppers works REALLY well. As far as anything else. You've named all of the most effective forms of birth control. Someone mentioned "the bullet" that does work for some. I suggest you talk with your doctor though about birth control methods.
