when using sardines, do i use a bobber, reel in, or let them sink to the bottom.

Use them live with or with out a cork and dead or cut fishem any way you like!
But really what kind of waters are you talking about!

Let it sink to the bottom. Since sardines are in the same family as herring and menhaden, they are oily in nature. Therefore, the oil brings the fish to the bait. That's why letting it sink to the bottom is your best bet.

If ur fishin for cats let it sink to the bottom, nething else place it about about 2 feet under the bobber.

depends on what type of fish you are after& what type of water (river lake ocean) I fillet and wrap on hook and use a sliding sinker (weight depends on current and depth ) when fishing for striped bass or catfish in rivers
