If you are in pain, don't delay 2 weeks; try another office.

If you are not wanting to choose another dental office because of your dental plan or insurance dictating where you can and cannot go for coverage---hum-mm, you can try:

Wearing a sport guard could possibly help you from continuing to chip it as well as possibly scrap your tongue against the broken rough chip. These sports guards can be purchased at the drug store (they are the boil and bite method types). Use it temporarily until you are able to see the dentist.

Good Luck-- hope that you are able to get into another dental office that can see you sooner.

Why can you not see anyone for 2 weeks? If your regular dentist is too booked ask him for a referral dentist he would trust to help you out. Even if they can put a temporary on the tooth to help cover it, that would make it less uncomfortable for you. If it is because you have to get money saved up for the visit then, look for some temporary filling material you can buy in the store. Read the directions carefully and make sure to get the tooth fixed as soon as possible. You may get decay in the broken area if you wait too long to fix it.

I actualy have my tooth chipped. It's not bad, and I have to wait like one month to get it filled. here are a few easy things to do

DO NOT rub your teeth together, it just makes the chip bigger

Eat soft fruits, and let the gunk from the fruits be a "temporary filling" for an hour or so. This ensures that nothing happens to the chipped tooth.

Also, don't go for super hard candy or food like that, It can cause your tooth to weaken and the chip to get larger.

Don't worry! it'll all be ok! Good Luck!

Use Orajel and Tylenol for the pain and use a straw to drink to avoid sensitivity, but there is no way to help otherwise. You need to go to the dentist.

HELLO ALI,

SOMEBODY SAID USE ORAJEL. THIS IS USELESS AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
WHY IS ORAJEL USELESS FOR THIS? IT ONLY WORKS FOR SOME GUM PAIN, BUT NOT FOR TRUE DENTAL PAIN. TAKE SOME ADVIL UP TO 4 TABLETS EVERY 4-6 HOURS FOR PAIN.SEE A DENTIST A.S.A.P.
