Depends on where it was stolen at.
If it was stolen from your vehicle, you may have insurance on it through your car insurance.
If it was stolen from your vehicle or your home, your homeowners/renters insurance may cover it.
If it was stolen from a public place, there isn't probably a lot you can do about it. You should check all your insurance policies.
Unfortunately, if you have NO insurance, you're probably up the creek without a paddle.

Using the serial number means that if the laptop is psychically found and the serial number matches the laptop then the cops simply know it belongs to you. The only trouble is the tag and files can be removed from the system if whoever stole the laptop is aware how to do so. If it is a branch laptop - ie. Dell then the serial number can be traced online, so there may be hope yet. However a stolen laptop is low priority and hard to find. The cops sadly may not take the time to find it.

No. Im sure u have called the police and got a report and given them the serial # and all that jazz off the laptop so that if it should pop up at a pawn shop or else where they will give it back to u. but no insurance no money u just have to buy another one and this time put insurance on it..

If you didn't have it insured, there's not much hope. Maybe your household insurance has an 'all risks' section, which might cover it, but I doubt it. Some credit cards insure your purchases, but only for a very short period, usually.

first of all look everywhere make sure u didnt just loose it then look in your contract with the carrier see if they do anything without insurence and check if your warrenty covers it if you still have your warrenty it sounds like a new laptop so id think you would still have the warrenty but still it mightve been a 90 day but still check the warrenty and the contract and your house and car and at your workplace and any friends houses who you have brought it to

Um, you don't have insurance on it. No, there's nothing that will cover theft of an uninsured item. Except maybe your mom.

If you don't have insurance, I don't know what else would cover it except your personal funds. Sorry.

Sorry dude you might try your home owners policy. Or renters policy. If you still live at home your parents home owners policy might cover some of it. But my condolences
