But not offended by the thought that we were created by a being to worship Him. A being that wiped out almost all of humanity once, and promises to do it again. A being who created us in world of suffering, intolerance, and struggle.

Yet you are offended by the thought that you are an updated version of an ape, I mean the similarities are there, from shape, to DNA.

"We are's all monkeez.........right LOL"

I just don't get how being God's creation seems better than evolving from ape-like ancestors.

Monkeys is in quotation marks, the true "ape-like ancestors" is in the additional details, thanks for not glossing over it though.

It's because most Christians take the Bible literally......reading Genesis....the Genealogy. But, it is only the history book from 2000 years ago. It does not mean that we did not descend from the apes after the ice age, or that it was not God's plan. The Bible is a History book of the Political strife during the life of Christ, and I think you can pretty much take that literally. I went to a Catholic College and that is the way we were taught. It takes a winner like Bush to try to turn it literal and there was nothing that went on before Genesis is ridiculous. The big test is yet to come. When another disaster occurs, which is closer than we think. When this Green House Effect truly starts to change things via the atmosphere, temperatures, water, etc, then you will see things man and animal adapt to his environment. Once nature must change to survive it will evolve if survival is going to be possible.

First, our world is the way it is because of humans and their selfish, greedy, violent behavior. This is a matter of choice of a self-serving people. God had wiped out many peoples and gave man a chance to get it right again, and as you see, man does it again. If cerains peoples had not been wiped out, this world would, guaranteed, be far more chaotic and war ridden than it is. We are now here because of His merciful patience. But, instead of people being wiped out in the end, they will be divided up - those who chose to follow after God will get to live with Him, and those who chose not to follow God will be completely seperated from Him - which, by the way, will not be pleasant as God holds more together than people give Him credit for.

I am not offended at the idea of the alleged evolutionary idea that man comes from ape. It just aint so, therefore I take no offense. There is no link to prove it and there never will be. As far as DNA, there are many shared markers. We also share many DNA markers with other animals - some even more than apes. That is not theory, but scientific fact - I wish I could find the literature right now - but, if you are intelligent, maybe you could do your own research.

There never were ape-like ancestors. They have a bone - it is the jawbone of a human, they say. Oh, and here is what this guy looked like, and his entire family - all from this jawbone. Whoops! It came from a pig - let's file the teeth and make it seem human. Here is a new find! This one has this shape skull and his skeleton shows that he was stooped. Whoops! again. Turns out that this guy had a bone deformity.

This is not proof. These were 2 of many finds that turned out to be mistaken. There has never been ape-like creatures.. There have been apes and there has been man. No link. It is not only missing - it doesn't exist.

I am a Christian and I have no problem with being evolved from "monkeys".

P.S. I agree with emmapeel66.

Someone else asked why we don't see things evolve. Evolution is mutation. Some mutations are "for no reason" and either spread around and the entire species has it, or it can die out. Or just a small group has it. (Like a sixth finger. No intrinsic survival purpose either way.)

Some mutations are also "for no reason", but actually end up being helpful in surviving (like lockable knees so you can travel further without getting tired when you stand up). Those spread faster because those without it tend to have more mishaps and then don't survive as well.

Fruit flies actually do mutate. Everyone has mutations (a gene or two out of place).

Your Grandfather might Have Been A Monkey, >>But Not Mine.
I was created By A Heavenly Father!! His Name Is God. The Bible reveals that God has existence from eternity Past to eternity Future...that He is supreme, knows all, is All knowing, All present, All powerful, and Without Any EQUAL! This self-existing God is revealed to be a tri-unity, with the FATHER having created " In The Beginning........The Heavens and the Earth." It is also revealed that in that same beginning , the Son "was the Word" and " the Word was with God", and All things were Made by Him" ! John 1:1-3 GLORY TO GOD! " Case Closed"

Evolution is one man's weak theory of man's origins. Why are you so offended there could be an alternative like a creator?

You don't get it because you don't want to, that doesn't mean it's wrong. You're assessment is exactly why some Christians don't get evolution.

If I were a democrat, would it be fair for me to say I just don't understand why republicans are offended by abortions? I just don't get how being conservative is better than being liberal.

Does that last statement sound pretty obsurd to you? It does if you understand politics. Your comments sound just as obsurd to someone who understands both arguments instead of just one side (like yourself).

Think about it.

In the book of Genesis Chapter 1 verse 27 NLT "So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female He created them."

Be careful of blasphemy. By believing we humans come from "monkeys" you are saying the almighty God is also an ape. I have watched apes at the zoo and I have a real problem with people comparing my Lord and Savior to a monkey.

Genesis 1:25 "God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to reproduce more of its own kind. And God saw that it was good."
God also said to the man and woman He created "Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it...

You have a choice to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior or reject Him. I pray you accept Him.

We might have freedom of speach in the United States of America, but America was also created by God and yes He has wiped out almost all of humanity once, and promises to do it again. So be careful not to bet part of the world that gets destroyed. Choose life!

If you don't already have one I suggest you buy yourself a copy of the Holy Bible and read it.

Its not so much its the better idea. It is just how it is. However, i am sorry to inform you that God didnt create us in a world of suffering, intolerance, and struggle. Until jesus comes back he allows us to have free will. People have choice and everyone makes some not so good ones.

just saying that we come from monkeys it doesn;t mean there was once a monkey and it became a man.
it means that the cave-man evolved from monkeys on a long period of time... and that caveman, later developed a language and mind.
and the fact that written history is only few thousands years old is a strong proof for that.
because it took 70,000 years from the first man who spoken the first word until now.

it's not "updated" per se, because evolution is not advancement of a species, it's the change in a species, species can evolved "backwards". Evolution is just a species adapting to something, it's not necessarily advancement, in fact, the bugs we see now are a lot smaller than what they used to be. Bugs used to dominate the earth, but because the oxygen level now is far bellow what the large bugs needed, they have become the size we see today.

Actually we were evolved from a fish walking onto the shore.
Then the Lemar evolved and branches broke off. One was a gibbon. From the gibbon there was a branch that eventually became homo erectus to Homo- sapian. There were many other branches or tribes different that ours but looked similar.
What does it matter how god did it or what the process was.
