first go check your system setttings and check if you have it set to output at 1080i and 720p. also last week sony did an update that allows you to upscale dvds which makes them look a lot better than before.

this is just me,
but i think all the 1080p and HD stuff is way overhyped. i mean, u can really tell the difference between a couple of pixels
gimme a break
i don't have an HD tv, but when i went to the store and looked at them i could not tell the difference at all (except for the price)
on my 27" i can play ps2 and watch tv fine. i think you can to

A lot depends on the movie. Some movies look really great, with lots of detail, and yes, some will look no better than regular DVDs.
