plants are useful to human beings by providing with many commercial products like timber, gums, resins, flowers and fire wood.

plants make nutrients from just water.
and it also provides (whats it called), the none digestive
parts of fruits and plants. usefull to get your intestinals (or whatever) going (Im from holland, please excuse my bad english)

Because we evolved together. It they weren't any use to us- or we weren't any use to them- it would be kind of odd.
