At times, a question such as this will elicit dozens and dozens of elaborate schemes to spare a householder an unwanted conversation with Jehovah's Witness door-to-door ministers.
All such schemes are a complete and utter waste of time!
Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)
Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20).

I appreciate your trying to find a polite way to let the Jehovah's Witness, who visits you, know that you are not interested. I hope you understand that she only has your best interests at heart. Many people mistakenly think that Jehovah's Witnesses go door to door simply because we are required to do so. At Matthew 28:19, 20 Jesus does say to preach, but the thing that really motivates us is love for our God and our neighbor. Why else would we put up with all of the rudeness that we meet going door to door. Trust me when I say that many if not most of Jehovah's Witnesses before they became Jehovah's Witnesses said, "I will never go door to door." But when they learn about Jehovah and everything he has done for us, they can't help but tell others about what they are learning.
In June, the JW who visits you will be offering a book that I think you would enjoy reading. It explains complex scientific information briefly and in a simple and logical way. The book does not push the existence of God, yet it presents the facts which include fascinating scientific discoveries about our universe, life, and us. The book reasons with the reader and quotes from many leading scientists. It is called "Is There a Creator Who Cares About You?" I like it because it takes the complex subjects of physics, chemistry, DNA, chromosomes, etc., and makes it so understandable. So maybe before you ask her not to come back or to put you on the do not call list, ask for a copy of the book. It really is fascinating.

The next time she comes politely tell her you are not interested and ask her not to return.. Do not debate beleifs at all just calmly and firmly say "I am not interested, please do not return." Once you have said it a couple times shut the door...
When you debate beleifs it gives her hope that you will convert, do not answer her questions with anything other than "I am not interested, please do not return."
If she returns after making it perfectly clear you do not want her to return and are not interested call the local kingdom hall and speak to an elder explain that you have asked her not to return and would like them to reiterate your wish as she does not seem to understand..
If she returns after that call the police and have them explain to her you do not wish her to return..
Some people regardless of faith or beleif have a problem listening and understanding "NO" while being polite is usually the best course of action sometimes you need to amp it up a bit to get through..
Hopefully she will get the message long before the law has to be called...
You have to do something being virtually held prisoner in your own home should never be tolerated in the interest of being polite..

Just tell the next JW that comes by politely...that you are not interested and ask for us not to call again...your wishes will be respected(but don't be surprised if a year or so down the road another witness comes by...why? Because sometimes people have a change of heart & situation and listen or maybe you would have moved out of that house by then and somebody else resides there)...but i give Alex above 10 points for explaining why we come by so much and also Lillie...

First make sure you have clearly communicated your wish for them not to knock on the door of your house.
If they show up again, just remind them.
As a last resort. show them all the false predictions their organization has made over the years. Use their own literature - some may assume if you have a photo copy that is was altered. They will either not come by your house again for the most part.

Scripture tells us to be kind to others and to share Christ. If you are a Christian and feel comfortable doing that, study up on their beliefs and discover how misguided they are. They put their faith in an organization, and they have followed this group of men who twist Scripture and tell them to believe in many gods, no hell, that Jesus is an angel, and so on...
When they come to your door, realize that they are just walking from house to house and may not have any idea of what you have told them before. If you want to just get rid of them, tell them to leave or you will call the police. You could also tell them you have some literature from ex-JWs to give them, and they will likely run from your home and never return. They are taught to flee from ex-Jehovah's Witnesses or anyone who associates with them because they are evil and in league with Satan. You can get information on their beliefs from several Christian Apologetics ministries: www.watchman.org, www.equip.org or other similar sites.
Bottom line is, they will usually leave if you say "no thanks, and we have asked you before..." or "I am going to call the police if you do not stop harassing me." But if their organization thinks you are equiped to enlighten them about TRUTH, the organization will make SURE they never come back.

INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO ABOUT DOOR KNOCKERS
The best way to learn what to do to stop JWs is to contact a synagogue and talk to the Rabbi.
Ask him how the ancient Jews got rid of the Christian Jews when they went from house to house telling their brethren that the beliefs, rituals, and holiday observances that they have followed for hundreds of years was no longer valid?
I’m sure they had ways to get rid of the Jews, who from their point of view, was a cult started by a Uneducated, Jewish Lower Class Carpenter, who was executed for cause by the governing authority. The only education he got was from his low class parents, Mary and Joseph. These followers were also uneducated Jewish lower class individuals, such as Peter, a failed fisherman, and Matthew, a hated tax collector.
Lacking any kind of education, let alone advance religious education, it was clear they were easily brainwashed into believing that the uneducated ex-carpenter was somehow the Messiah, which was clearly false as it was commonly known that when the Messiah came, he would destroy (Armageddon) the enemies of the true people of God, as foretold.
Saul of Tarsus, a highly educated individual in the religious arts, repeatedly proved they were a false religious sect and cult, creating their own scriptures (Bible) instead of relying on the Holy Torah, which had been used by the Jews for hundreds of years. Saul often stood by as the true believers of God stoned these so-called Christians for their door to door activities and spreading of false doctrine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saul_of_Tarsus
Now, I would not recommend stoning, but they may have had other methods that worked to stop the house to house work and the spreading of false doctrine . What worked for them against the Christian cult may work against the JWs. At least you will be in good company in doing so.
Or
Just call the Kingdom Hall and ask that your address be put on the back of territory card listing of no call addresses. At this point, they check back only every six months.
Of course, you already knew that, you just wanted to collect a bunch of anti-JW comments from people, like the sexual deviants who say to answer the door naked. I don't know about Canada, but in the U.S., if a neighbor's child were to see that, you would be looking at a sex offense change, with automatic registry, whether found guilty or not.

Be honest!
We keep coming back when we feel there is a spiritual spark because we dedicated our lives to doing this kind of work.We promised our Creator,Jehovah that we will continue without letup, searching for honest hearted ones deserving of everlasting life.
If the concept of life eternal on a paradise earth does not interest you, then just be honest and ask the sister not to call anymore.

I'd politely tell the JW lady that you have listened to her message, you find it an unbelievable and basically repulsive message and now she must listen to you and your "witness" of your spiritual journey without interruption . Then,if she still has not left, tell her that if she comes back she will have to pray with you as you pray aloud"according to my spirituality". I doubt if she would come back or send other JWs.
If the above does not work get a restraining order,"No Jws "signs and a large German Shepherd chained on your front porch.
A friend of mine tells them that he is a former baptized JW and has rejected' all that unjust and nasty armageddon-stuff'. None has ever returned.

The most passive way to stop them is simply post a sign by your door that specifically tells Jehovah's Witnesses to leave your property. "No Soliciting" signs are too vague because the J-dubs don't see themselves as solicitors so they will knock on your door anyways and argue technicalities.
Interestingly, they are couseled by their organization to ignore "No Soliciting" signs on the basis described above, however they are also counseled to obey any signage that specifically mentions them. I know this because I used to be one.
