I have an Ulcer on my throat?

Question

I have an Ulcer, its a creamy white colour and quite red around it, and its on my throat.

My throat really hurts, i can't hardly speak, i can't eat properly, and sometimes i can't swallow.

The other day, I caught my throat with my toothbrush and it really hurt and i could taste blood, stupid i know, but i think this was the cause? The Ulcer happens to be in the same place as where i cut my throat.

I've been using Bonjella three times a day but it doesn't seem to be working. Please help! Thanks.

Try gargling with diluted TCP. Avoid eating anything hot or hard and scratchy. Try to eat smooth, cool food. Eventually the ulcer will go. But why is it there in the first place? You could have a vitamin deficiency. Try heavy dose of Vit C.
You have all my sympathy. I sometimes suffer from mouth ulcers and they are horrible. If it does not clear up after six days, go to your doctor

If this is a simple apthous ulcer, which is the commonest type, it will last about 10 days in total and will not be affected by treatment. There are more serious lesions, so if it does not resolve quickly you need your GP to check it.

Go to a doctor. We cannot diagnose you via the net.
It's on your throat, and you can see it - where? on a tonsil? the back of your throat? the uvula?
Rinse mouth with salt water after every meal, and before bed.
If the bonjela hasn't started working after 2 full days, call the doc.

Please go and see your doctor- it sounds that you may need some antibiotics- i had such a bad throat a fortnight ago i couldn't even drink for three days. The doctor gave me some codeine phosphate which killed the pain instantly and some antibiotics- i was eating jelly for breakfast by the next day!!

If it's near the dangley bit in your throat but to one side you have tonsillitis, see your GP
