in my search i have found nothing. not one scientist that has said, "i believe man is influencing/causing global warming."

The only one that came close was James Hansen, but it turns out he is not as holy or pure as he seems. No one has yet to mention Hansen’s partisan ties to former Democrat Vice President Al Gore or Hansen’s receiving of a grant of a quarter of a million dollars from the left-wing Heinz Foundation run by Teresa Heinz Kerry. Hansen appeared to concede in a 2003 issue of Natural Science that the use of “extreme scenarios" to dramatize climate change “may have been appropriate at one time” to drive the public's attention, to the issue. Many in the media dwell on any industry support given to so-called climate skeptics, but the same media completely fail to note Hansen’s huge grant from the left-wing Heinz Foundation.

He has over 50 peer-reviewed publications.

"Concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and other gases (all of which add to the greenhouse effect that creates a warming blanket over the Earth) have increased sharply over the last century -- by 35 percent for CO2, and by more than 100 percent for CH4. This is overwhelmingly due to human industrial and agricultural activity. The conclusions from theoretical studies, direct observations and models are all quite clear and show that these rising concentrations have led to a warming of the planet over the last century. "

"it's become extremely difficult to make a plausible argument that the changes in the climate are not in large part due to human influence. ... carbon dioxide levels have increased from pre-industrial levels of about 280 parts per million to about 370 parts per million today, and that those levels are unprecedented in the last several hundred thousand years. We know this increase is due to human activity—there is no legitimate scientific argument to indicate otherwise ... it's very difficult to argue that the Earth would warm any less than 1.5 degrees Celsius and any greater than 4.5 degrees Celsius for a doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide—which is a standard benchmark in the science of climate change. At current rates of emissions this doubling would happen midway through this century—but of course exactly when it will occur is impossible to predict, because humans themselves are unpredictable."

I'll list just a very small number for you...

Al'harthi - Awwad
Bradley - Rick
Crabbe - Philip
Delhotal - Casey
Eddenhofer - Ottmar
Faaij - Andre
Gregory - Robert
Hare - William
Ibitoye - Francis
Jepma - Catrinus
Kuipers - Lambert
Lecocq - Pierre
McFarland - Macj
Najam - Adil
Opschoor - Hans
Plotkin - Steven
Quinxian - Gao
Rayner - Steve
Schaeffer - Roberto
Tanaka - Kanoka
Uchiyama - Yohji
Vuori - Seppo
Worrel - Ernst
Xu - Huaqing
Yamba - Francis
Zhou - Dadi

Compiling that list was easy as I have here documents with the names of many thousands of scientists who support manmade global warming. I only needed to refer to one single document to find the 26 alphabetical names.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to come up with an A to Z list of equally credible scientists who do not support global warming.

Professor Sir David King
Surface Science Group
Queens' College
Chief Scientific Advisor to H.M. Government
Head of the Office of Science and Innovation

Global warming 'biggest threat'

"Greenhouse gases stop energy escaping from the Earth's surface Climate change is a far greater threat to the world than international terrorism, the UK Government's chief scientific adviser has said. Sir David King said the US had failed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. "

As for Hansen - He is the most prominent scientist within the current administration, as the director of NASA's Goddard Institute, as he has been for 26 years! Dismissing him as merely partisan is mindbogglingly ignorant.

Is this a serious question? Over 90% of climate experts agree that the majority of recent global warming is caused by human greenhouse gas emissions.

If you really want individual names, my favorite is Joseph Romm who wrote "The Hype About Hydrogen" and "Hell and High Water". A section of the latter is devoted to discussing the high degree of concensus among climate experts and the media bias which has created the false perception that there is any significant disagreement in the scientific community on this issue.

Romm doesn't personally know a single expert who has any doubt that the recent global warming has mostly been caused by humans. He also points out that most of the "experts" who dispute the concensus are either funded by oil companies or are not really experts. Meteorologists, for example, have no schooling in climatology, but are treated as experts on global warming.

Romm is one of the world’s leading experts on clean energy, advanced vehicles, energy security, and greenhouse gas mitigation. He holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from MIT. Romm served as Acting Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, in charge of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy during 1997 and as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary from 1995 though 1998.

Entirely to blame maybe Not
Influencing 100 % and for a long time already

check out all the knowlegeble answers you got here ,this was a hail storm of scientists ,and it is only the tip of the ice berg.

I hope you will see truth if it sits on your nose.

WHO OR WHAT IS TO BLAME

Irresponsible Agriculture , expanding populations and its effects are the planets biggest enemies.

This text only covers some aspects of Climate change ,i.e.effects of deforestation and subsequent man made desertification ,because of irresponsible farming using chemicals ,over pumping carbon aquifers, over grazing ,wild fires (because of slash and burn gone out of control).

Water and air polution ,such as caused by
industrial contamination ,the contaminating effects of the cities(the internal combustion engine) ,are other stories.

All of these are also man made ,such as the high industrial chimneys pumping contamination into the clouds and the burning of tires, some of this polution has been found in the ice in the polar regions.

There are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations .

The thinner ozone layer helps to speed this up. This is caused mainly by air polution ,also as a result of mans actions.

In North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss , desertification and some have died as a result.

Now many animals are becoming sick because of changes in temperature .
Vital links in the food chains are disapearing affecting other species further along in the chain .

We are witness to a mass exstinction ,for the first time since the dinosaurs.
Of the earth's estimated 10 million species, 300,000 have vanished in the past 50 years.
Each year, 3,000 to 30,000 species become extinct.

Everything is happening so fast it is not possible to monitor things any more.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year.
Most of the desserts are as a results of mans actions. And they are increasing .In the dinosaurs days ,there were few desserts.

Collectively this planet is drying up .

Each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

There is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate Agriculture.

Arable lands and their farms are lost all over the globe. Many farmers sons abandon farming and head for the cities.

Northern China is drying up, what once were millions of food producing people, are now hungry refugees ,running for their lives from the all consuming dust storms.

This will have a great effect on world food prices when they start buying at what ever cost, to feed their people.

The farmers that are left have to feed some 70 million more people than the year before but with less topsoil(because of desertification and irreverible erosion)

Over the last half century,
Population growth & rising incomes have tripled world grain demand from 640 million tons to 1,855 million

In the near future the global farming community will not be able to feed every body ,food prices will continue to rise. .

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
This does not affect the sea level ,because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,and the Glaziers is potable water lost forever and rises the sea levels.

Are We responsible ?
Is it the Sun?
Is it God who wants to punish us?
Is it Gaia who wants to clean some parasitic infestation?
Is it a Natural cycle?

Who cares ? that is not important any more
WHAT IS important -is that we are gonna be in trouble

So let me get this straight. What you are asking is for a specific name of a scientist who is on record as saying that global warming is manmade. You won't accept organisations, because the sheer number of scientists subscribing to the theory undermines the feeble argument you are trying to make. You won't accept Hansen because he is supposedly a partisan democrat, despite serving in the current administration, and you class anyone actually answering the question as using a loophole, which you promptly close by making the question steadily harder to answer.

You've been given dozens, if not hundreds of names. Accept that you know nothing about the subject and that other people might know more than you, and you might just learn something.

I can show not just a few names, but entire collections of scientists who are extremely concerned and worried about our continued destruction of Earth's energy balance.

----------

Joint science academies’ statement: sustainability, energy efficiency and climate protection

16 May 2007

The national science academies of the G8 nations and Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa have signed a statement on sustainability, energy efficiency and climate protection. The statement calls on world leaders, particularly those meeting at the G8 Summit in Heiligendamm in June 2007, to cooperate in identifying common strategic objectives for sustainable, efficient and climate friendly energy systems, and in implementing actions toward them. In particular, it urges them to:

* Set standards and promote economic instruments for efficiency, and commit to promoting energy efficiency for buildings, devices, motors, transportation systems and in the energy sector itself.
* Promote understanding of climate and energy issues and encourage necessary behavioural changes within our societies.
* Define and implement measures to reduce global deforestation.
* Strengthen economic and technological exchange with developing countries, in order to leapfrog to cleaner and more efficient modern technologies.
* Invest strongly in science and technology related to energy efficiency, zero-carbon energy resources and carbon-removing technologies.

That's pretty much every scientist of any note saying, collectively, that climate change is happening, it's our fault, and we need to take urgent definitive action to change the way we do business.

------------

And here are some more - references to scientific papers (you know, the things journalists can't be bothered to read) that clearly ascribe global warming to human influences.

Hansen, J., L. Nazarenko, R. Ruedy, M. Sato, J. Willis, A. Del Genio, D. Koch, A. Lacis, K. Lo, S. Menon, T. Novakov, J. Perlwitz, G. Russell, G.A. Schmidt, and N. Tausnev. 2005. Earth's energy imbalance: Confirmation and implications. Science 308:1431-1435.

(14 scientists, not including Hansen)

Barnett, T.P., D.W. Pierce, K.M. AchutaRao, P.J. Gleckler, B.D. Santer, J.M. Gregory, and W.M. Washington. 2005. Penetration of human-induced warming into the world's oceans. Science 309:284-287.

(7 more)

Santer, B.D., M.F. Wehner, T.M.L. Wigley, R. Sausen, G.A. Meehl, K.E. Taylor, C. Ammann, J. Arblaster, W.M. Washington, J.S. Boyle, and W. Bruggemann. 2003. Contribution of anthropogenic and natural forcing to recent tropospheric height changes. Science 301:479-483.

(9 more, not counting Santer and Washington who also authored the second one)

So, 30 NAMED scientists, putting their reputation on the line by authoring a paper (or papers) in Science supporting the theory of human-induced global warming.

If you are ready to accept that you are ignorant on this topic, please read the second link and start to inform yourself properly.

Just browse the NASA climatology websites and the NOAA websites for starters.

Then you can read the IPCC report.

Or you can download the data and models from NASA's website and run the the things yourself.

If you haven't found a single one, then you really haven't been trying very hard.
