yes, you can...i had a bit of a problem a while ago. my son got hurt and if i had been high...i wouldn't have even known he was hurting. fortunately, i wasn't high that week and took him to the er. it turned out he had a huge blood clot in his brain and had emergency surgery that night to remove it. i haven't even THOUGHT about the junk since then. this was this past december, and my son is perfect with only a scar to show his battle! BTW- it was cocaine

I say no, depending on why you would be using "drugs". If they are helping with pain, I say use them, but be in control, and try other ways to alleviate the pain, and ween off. If they are replacing something in your life you are missing, then, yes, you will easily become addicted, because it is easier than tackling the problem that is keeping you from having peace of mind.
I have experimented with everything from the 60's, and am
surprised that I have never been addicted to the point that I couldn't bite the bullet
I however have turned down offers on hard core Drugs like Heroin, or Meth. I wouldn't even consider flirting with that much danger.
Since the 60's, when Love and Peace were included in drugs, and I have had many years to see the end results of "Drug Addiction", and Love and Peace went out the window, I now know that some of us didn't return from our trips. I work in the Field of Neurology now, mostly taking care of Alzheimer's Patients.
The Pharmaceutical Companies have us by the Knackers. Every time we have pain, or a skin rash, or something, they are training us to run to the cupboard and look through our stash for something to cure it, via their products.

Don't fall for it. Try the route intended for us on this Planet. Fruits and Vegetables in season, eat healty, all things in moderation, when in Rome, do as the Romans do, and take time to BREATHE. Look at the lighter side of a situation if possible. I'm not saying let someone kick your butt, however, check your attitude at the door, and make a smile when possible. Prison is one of the biggest money makers around. They have a tremendous younger population of non-Felony offenders, because they are easy to handle.

This Planet is in big trouble, and we need be fully in control of ourselves.
So, Neurologically speaking, don't try to get anything past the barrier to the brain. We are already being inundated with Neurotoxins in the environment. Don't *** with your brain. This is funny, my spell check wanted to change it to ****. hehehe

what kind of drugs, recreational?

i cant say never do drugs, because everyone toys with the idea of experimenting with different things, but you really have to know your personality... some people get sucked into that lifestyle so quickly, you wont know what hit you.

other people test it, and leave it be.

the obvious answer is to not do drugs. go and rent requiem for a dream. that will answer all your questions... i watched it yesterday for the first time.. and am very glad that i did, but i will never watch it again.

or watch a show like intervention.. you see successfull people living a regular ole life, then they are caught in the street, hookin it out for a couple bucks for crack or pot or booze.

very powerful stuff. be very careful.

There is psychological and physical need/addiction. Some people can kick it, some can't.

If you are clean now, why mess up? You will never regret that you didn't do drugs.

It depends what kind of drug it is. Marijuana, I believe you can try it and not get addicted. Drugs like cocaine, heroine, methamphetamine.. now those are different stories. They are highly addictive (scientifically proven) and you can become addicted to the point where you NEED help to get off of them/
