Boston Cooler: ginger ale with vanilla ice cream. The ginger ale can be replaced with seltzer or coffee, and sometimes rum is added. Sometimes the vanilla ice cream is replaced by sherbet or other flavors of ice cream. It is basically a ice cream float. It actually originated in Detroit, not Boston.
