people who have weight problem are usually the ones who are not new to dieting and diet pills. when you "go on and off" diets - its all fad diets because diet is a way of life, its not a short term commitment and then you can eat the way you did before (which got you were you are in first place). all this dieting is based on depriving yourself which leads to water weight and muscle loss and slows down metabolism. with every diet you end up having higher body fat percentage and slower metabolism - and when you finally realize you have to change your eating habits and start exercising to lose weight your body is resisting and its really hard work to lose weight.
when a skinny person gains weight...they have good eating habits, they haven't deprived their bodies, they have fast metabolisms. if they gain weight - its because they weren't as active or were eating a lot more which doesn't slow down metabolism. when they want to lose weight its easy because a lot of times its the first time their bodies don't get as much calories as they were used to and respond really well. and - they still have good metabolism.

I think its because alot of heavy people gain weight when they're kids, they aren't active enough, or they eat too much of a bad thing. When the grow older, they never knew the right habbits, or noone ever pushed them to exercise.. and it's a viscious cycle. But, when your active throughout childhood, and have certain eating habits, it's much easier to know what to do to lose the weight. Metabolism also has a lot to do with it, but if you have a slow metabolism it's just more important to work harder to reach your goals.

Thats not true. It's easy to get skinny just exercise and eat right then in a month you'll be fine. My cousin is skinny then she gains 5lbs and gets depressed over a guy and looses it again.

Probably because our bodies settle in to a weight that it wants to stay at, and it's difficult to change that point without staying there for quite a long time.
Oh, and the larger a person is, the higher their metabolism (unless they have a thyroid problem or other medical issues), so it isn't that.

Skinny people usually have a higher metabolism that larger people, therefore making it easier to lose the weight they've gained. A lot of time, larger people don't have the motivation to lose weight, so they just don't.

Because skinny people already know how to live to be skinny.
There is a secret...shhh! Food is not a pass-time, a hobby, a consolation or a reward. Food is for health and survival only.
