My dear non-christian friends we know that there are a lot of Christians and haters on yahoo answers. Sometimes they have actual questions, but most of the time they just set out to twist the truth however it suits them. Arguing with them will not change their minds. However, we have a might tool we can use. It's logic. When these ppl come with their slander lets just respond with "I love you", and then bop them on the head with a nerf bat.

*I love when questions can be used both ways with just a few simple word changes*

It might change their minds. I used to be Christian, myself.

I think it is important to reply honestly to their questions. Even if it won't sway the questioner, who's mind is usually already made up, it might show others that there is a reasonable response to their claims.

(BTW, your restatement of his question has a much firmer basis than his. "I love you" won't work either way, but it does show how religions use emotional manipulation to gain converts. It's really no different than the myriad cults that use the "love bomb" to ensnare people in weird beliefs.)

Only one suggestion - make it a real bat.

Preferably Aluminum.

I'm basically agnostic - but I don't think there is any point in the ignorant back and forth arguments that go on between believers and non-believers (and then add trolls into that mix - and it's just a mess).

We should all love each other - and try to learn from each other.

Noone knows what the real truth is - and the second we start to realize that, and start showing some respect for other peoples beliefs, we can start making some progress.

I'm a Christian and I say definitely use logic. It is what will be the downfall of all of the bigoted, non-sensical ramblings that give Christians on Y!A a bad name. Fight for logic because it's the only way anyone can communicate a valid point. I hope to see an end to the self-righteous crusader as much as any of you.

actually, in long-time conversations with people here, i have led many xians out of the xian cult into reason. several have dropped the cult in favor of the more logical Deism.

i'll never give up on enlightening people and bringing them away from brainwashed cultism and hatred.

No. Do not feed trolls. Pray for them, but say nothing. Jesus said that each man will give an account for every idle word they utter. I'll leave it in His hands to deal with them. I just look for the true seekers. Do not feed trolls.

Matthew 12:36
Jesus said, "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment."

Matthew 7:6
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." ie Do not feed the trolls!

I just use them for entertainment. It is like driving past a bad car wreck. You know you shouldn't look because it is depressing, but you just can't help it.

you have a funny definition of hate.
being blunt and forward is not hate.
not sharing your opinion is not hate.
saying i love you is not love.
mocking religion is not wisdom.
and with your logic, well...
