By remembering the departed loved ones we suffer,
for nothing can bring them back.

It all depend on how you look at the situation. Just like one may call glass half empty or half full of water. When we are born through normal delivery, that is also a very painful situation. You have lived in a womb, floating in the water. When you enter this world, you come out of a place which is much smaller than your head. Can you imagine squeezing through such a small place and not feeling the pain? We celebrate it as a birth and welcome the baby. If we accept the rule that death is a completion of one life and beginning of other life, it will not be as painful as we would feel. It is sad that we will not see that body but the spirit/soul leaves for ever. If we view it as a beginning of another life, we would mourn the loss but will celebrate the freedom of that soul. Thus it will be less suffering.

i think it is because of the way some people die some do suffer until the last day some go very peacefully and others never see it coming. to me the suffering comes after u r dead because if u r not right with Jesus u will suffer but u do have until last last time to repent and the suffering will no longer be. a chance to get right with the Lord remember the story of the thieves on their crosses while Jesus was being crucified for our sins one mocked and the other repented one reached the heavens and the other didn't. the suffering is how u lived and if u chose to repent that last day.

Death is painful so it is a suffering.
None knows what really happens after death.Hence it is viewed as the absolute end for the person who is dying by all other person who is living.
Living person does not know what it is like after death and dead man cant tell what it is to be dead.
It is a ultimate mystry. Hence it is a suffering, like any other ignorance.(All ignorance brings suffering--Reflect)

Not all the people view death as suffering.

Ask the people suffering with some uncurable desease from a long time, they wish to die.

Ask the poorest dying of hunger, they wish to die rather than suffering with hunger.

So many more in that category.

Now the people who view death as suffering are those who enjoy good health, good wealth, good luxuries, like to do whatever they like to, with no restraints and constraint from religion. Such people are afraid to meet death because they loose all of that enjoyment.

Again the people practicing piety, in fact greet death so as to meet their Lord.

All organisms on this earth are here to live...no one is there to die...why else would we struggle for money food space shelter etc.....we all wanna live...no one wants to die....people have created gods angels demons heaven hell...but can anyone prove it?....it is all faith....death hav never been seen by anyone.....and it will never be seen...no one knows how it feels once you are dead....do you know why people say they will go to heaven or hell.....it is because they dont know what follows death...no one knows.....and all we know is what preceeds death...what hapens after death is assumed suffering because the thing that happens preceeding death....the few minutes, or seconds or miliseconds before death is pain....intense pain and then death...since the last thing that happens before death is pain and suffering....death is symbolised as suffering...it is only assumed.....no one can prove it....no one

Death causes suffering to the people around the dead person. The attachment to the dead person causes suffering and not dying itself. To the person who is dead.. Does it matter???? :))
Another angle. We are all made of the same molecules and atoms that the universe is made of.. When we die, nothing actually vanishes. The molecules and cells rearrange into something else.. Just that we cant see and feel the person as we know him / her.
" Energy is neither created nor destroyed. It is just transformed from one form to another" Matter to Energy and energy to matter.

What dies? The body? The mind? The ego?

All these end. That which does not end did not have a beginning and cannot suffer.

The suffering is entirely to the ego that sees its end.
