First of all, after going out for 3 weeks I would hardly call her your girlfriend, not enough time. Secondly, do not tell her until it comes up again sometime in the future. When it does don't tell her you lied, make a joke about it and leave it at that. At some point in the future, when she actually loves you, a year difference will not matter (she doesn't love you right now, not after 3 weeks).
And for future reference do not lie, women must have respect and by lying (even the small ones) you're being disrespectful.

If you stay friend your age will come up again, just be honest what age you are at that time. Hey, in some countries you are considered a year old and in others 3 years old when you are born.
This is rarely an issue unless she thinks your age is providing you some privilege that you do not have--for example --driving or legal age to drink alcohol.

Well, how old are YOU and how old is SHE? If you have sex is it the difference between consenting "adults" or does it become a felony?
Personally, I would let it slip out, and then - maintaining absolute confidence and sticking to your guns - I would insist that I said the true number BEFORE.
"You told me you were 18!"
"No, I said 17."
Just keep insisting, don't give an inch, don't so any doubt - SHE heard YOU wrong. If you stay confident and insistent to the end, she will begin to doubt herself.
Now, if your age makes it a felony for her... that's rough. Talk to me about that if that's the case.
And that's all you can do.
Write me privately if you need anything further.

Yes, of course. You will feel better and as it is not a big lie I think she will probably forgive you and be OK with it, but really, do not lie again! She might be a little tiny bit distrustful for awhile but I don;t think it will be hard for yu to rectify this, if you just tell the truth from now on. Good luck!

In ANY relationship, It is ALWAYS best to be HONEST with the one you love? Would you want her to lie to you? Of course not!!! Show her the respect that she deserves, And apologize to her. Tell her what as on your mind at the time And why you did it. If she has any feelings for you at all, Then she will understand.. Always be open and honest with those you love, And you'll never have to say your sorry.( Not very often that is.) Always treat a woman with the tenderness, Love and respect that she is due and she will be with you for a long time .... I hope you understand and apply this to your life, If you can, Then you will have a very long and happy relationship. I wish you well in the future....

Yes you should tell her if you like her because she'll find out anyway - but don't make a big deal about it (because it's just a year and not a big deal). Don't make it a "I lied" confession (like all these girls are suggesting).
You should make it sound like it was an accident- just ask her, "By the way, how old do you think I am?" then say, "Really? That's funny, I'm actually -"

Did u lie saying you were older or younger than what you actually are? Since a lie is a lie doesn't matter whether its age or if you married you should still tell her. Since its not a lie like you cheated on her it shoudn't be to much on her but i mean just tell her. U said ur self that u have a heavy conscience on it so in reality ur telling your self that u feel guilty. Just telll her .

If you lied before dating her then it won't be too bad. She will understand that at the time you were trying to get with her. Just tell her. I've lied about my age before. I was 16 and said I was 18. The guy stayed! :) But if you just lied about a year, ask yourself why you did that? No more small lies okay, she's your girlfriend now and that means even the small ones hurt! :)

Yes, be up front about it now. Right now it might be sort of cute to her, that you told a little white lie because you thought she wouldn't pay any attention to you if you told her your true age. If you wait for too long she'll feel betrayed because you perpetuated the lie.
Tell her ASAP and apologize for not telling the truth to begin with.

I would tell her right away, say that u lied just for the same reason that u really did... it shouldn't be that big of a deal. But if it really is then she is superficial, and not right 4 u then. Plus she will find out eventually.
I hope this helps.
