Hmmm... there are a few things you can do.
Plant marigolds. Mosquitoes hate them. Get some in pots and bring them in.
Citronella candles can help also in keeping them away.
Now, as far as your mosquito problem itself - #1 is to make sure you don't have ANY standing water outside. Any chairs you have outside should be stored upside down to prevent the seats from making perfect pools for mosquitos to breed, any buckets of rainwater should immediately be dumped unless they are immediately being used. Check around for anything in your yard that might be collecting and holding water - deflated balls, tarps, plastic bags, cups, cans... even the smallest amount of water will allow a mosquito a place to lay eggs.
#2) I'd recommend going out and buying a indoor/outdoor insecticide and using it in your house on the walls, mainly up toward the ceiling. Be sure it's not going to mess up your paint, but that way when they come in and land, you're going to be certain they get sick and die.
#3) Depending on the severity of the mosquito problem in your house, your other option is a mosquito net that goes over your bed at night. Mosquitos LOVE a good midnight snack, so thwart them with the net and sleep easy.
Good luck!

Use Deet. I have an anti mosquito bite lotion at home but I am not there so can't recall the brand name. Having had Malaria I can sympathise with your predicament.

Mosquito's HATE Avon's Skin So Soft! Apply it to your skin and they will stay away from you! .........Try using a spray that is specific to killing them. Make sure if you have small kids or pets, stay out of the house till you can air it out. Also be sure to wipe down counter tops, sinks, tables and appliances.
