It's legal to use, but getting music, movies and programs without a license is ilegal. Two weeks ago a girl's parents had to pay 3000 in fines and about 10,000 in lawyer fees.

The other issue is that it is the biggest virus distribution site on the planet. If you dont now what youre doing, what you think is "free" music will turn your 1500 dollar computer into a 100 dollar computer

Limewire itself is legal however people tend to use it in the inappropriate way (music, video, porn) using in the way that is inappropriate can result in a law suit or a visit from the RIAA and can be fined just remember limewire is like a russian roulette it can happen to you or it can never happen to u some college students use it constantly but never get caught some elderly lady first time use can result in being caught if i were u i would 1. make a list of what music/video w/e u want to download 2. download it off limewire or wherever 3. DELETE limewire/reboot system hope this helps but please remember it is illegal to download music off limewire but everyone does it

Limewire is legal and illegal. Legal for made programs that are free or songs that don't have a copyright. Illegal for Copyrighted songs or movies. I don't think it's illegal because someone somewhere bought the song somehow. Lol, I used a lo of somes.

Limewire is legal, but downloading copyrighted material is not legal. If you download music and movies that have not been copyrighted (such as homemade demos, home movies, etc) you are not breaking the law.

limewire is legal but downloading protected/copyrighted content isn't without permission from the owner of the files in question.

Is it available to use?...has it been shut down?
If it is posted/available,... then it is legal until such time as a law court finds it is not and closes it or alters it's application.

(does this break user guidelines too YAHOO!?)
