I have tried both:
Frontline Plus works well and did a good job keeping the fleas off my dogs. They had no allergic reactions, itching, etc. Application is simple.
K9 Advantix is what I currently use. It also works well (and is supposed to repel mosquitos..I live in the country so this is a plus). They had no reactions, itching. The only noted difference I found was that with K9, you apply the "gel" to 3-4 spots along your dog's back instead of just inbetween the shoulder blades.

I asked my vet - they really like Advantix. BUT they had nothing bad to say about Frontline. They carried both for awhile and the customers seemed to (for no real reason) prefer the Advantage/Advantix so that is all they carry now.
Frontine states that their product is waterproof while the other is not (not true) - and K9 in their ad says the exact opposite!
Our dogs go in the river and thet Advantix holds up. I have never used Frontline because I can get Advantix cheaper.
Some people have mentioned (on here actually) that they have had allergy problems with Frontline (maybe the delivery solution has some irritant in it!).
I think they are both "equivalent" - just like Bayer aspirin vs the store generic. They both have what you need. Although - check the box carefully as newer "versions" now repel mosquitoes (as the previous post mentioned) and I think they are now coming out with one that is for worms as well.
Go with the one that is on sale :) And remember - they are both nasty! keep the medicine away from cats and kids. And you may need to leave them outside for several hours after application because both have a wet/oily residue for about a day.

THERE AINT NO BUGS ON ME.....LOL! Frontline Plus did absolutely NOTHING for my dogs, I think the K9 Advantix is much better. The Frontline only kills the fleas AFTER they bite (kind of pointless there huh?) Where as the k9 Advantix REPELS fleas & ticks and keeps them from getting on your dog in the 1st place.... Gee....Im starting to sound like a commercial...., LOL

frontline
I got Advantix and the effect only lasted a week after treatment, when I gave her a bath she got fleas real bad.
If I was you I would try a 1 month supply of both and see which one works better for you dog.

Both are good, but I think Frontline Plus is the best flea/tick treatment on the market as it treats fleas, ticks and is the only product that kills fleas in the larval and pupal phases.

I think Advantix also repels the phlebotomus that spreads leishmaniasis. I don't know if you have that a lot where you live, but in the mediterranean area we get it a lot, so I prefer that.
