Go to the vet and have them do it. Really they are the only qualified people that should be giving vaccines.

That is REALLY not a good idea. A vet will check the dogs general health and heart when you take it in. You can also be very sure of the condition of the vaccine which you cannot if you just buy. Dogs also can have a very adverse effect from vaccinations which wouldn't be helped if a vet didn't give it in the first place. Although it is more expensive, I would prefer you go to a vet in the first place.

It is important to have a vet administer vaccinations...a puppy/dog MUST be healthy before it is vaccianted and there can be underlying issues going on that the owner can't detect but a vet can. Also vaccinations need to be handled, stored, mixed and administered properly.
Drug companies do NOT sell their products to other then licensed vets and they will NOT guarantee their product if it is administered by owner rather then a vet. it is also wise to have a vet administer vaccinations in case of reaction.

Puppy vaccinations need to be given at 8-9 weeks, 12-14 weeks and 16 -18 weeks and a rabies done at 20 weeks or older (must be administered by a vet)

Never use vaccines that don't come from the vet. Over the counter retailers aren't required by law to keep their vaccines at a certain temperature like the vet is. OTC vaccines could have gone from hot to cold several times during shipment thereby leaving your dog unprotected. You also have no proof (for County Animal Services) that your dog has been vaccinated with OTC vaccines. Your vet will give you certifications of vaccination and will also have this information on file in case your pet loses its tags and gets picked up by animal control.

You can usually get dog shots at feed stores. Do you know that a puppy needs his first shot 2 weeks after weaning and a booster every 3 to 4 weeks after that until it's over 4 months of age? One shot alone does no good at all.

Yup seconded - only vets should be doing this. I know breeders do but it astonishes me that drug companies hand their stuff out to people who aren't professionals. I mean you don't get human nannies administering vaccines do you?

Get it done at a vets.

Not sure where you can get it in Philly -- but please do not be discouraged by the previous answers. As long as you follow the directions and use aseptic techniques it makes more sense to vaccinate yourself, why pay some one for a service when you can do it yourself?
