why not? make a fashion statement! It would be easier to walk in than all of those high heels that the girls wear. your more likely to not fall that way.

Part of the tradition of wearing a gown and cap is because not everyone can afford fancy clothing. By making everyone wear the same thing, they were made equal in the eyes of the guests. The focus was on the degrees earned, not on how rich someone was.

But considering the ONLY thing people see besides the cap and gown are the shoes, I would wear dress shoes. Not because of a money issue but because you can still have a little decorum when graduating...

Yes, it's too casual. This is a shining moment in your life, and you should show respect for it. At least if it's high school. When you graduate from college, anything goes! But just think of the photos you'll be looking at years from now. Will you be embarrassed then? What will your family think of those pics?

Just some things to consider.

you can wear whatever you like. its your day. this is a milestone in your life and you wouldn't want to remember it because of blisters or tight shoes. any pics to be taken can be done from knee up. being that most celebrations have already passed or are yet to come i would bet more people than you know will not only be wearing tennis shoes, but shorts and tee shirts as well. and you'll never know whom unless they volunteer that info. congratulations on your success.

I believe it is more of a way to respect the degree your receiving. Although I have seen sandals and tennis shoes to flip flops.

yes it is. Suck it up and put on real shoes and get ready for the real world because you can't go to a job interview in tennis shoes. (That is unless you want to make minimum wage the rest of your life.)

If you did't put any effort while you were studing, and you think that your family, friends and teachers don't diserve any respect, and if you want to be remembered as the stupid guy who ruin the graduation picture, it's going to be perfect for you

I think it is too casual, sorry. You should dress up for graduation, and this means all of your wardrobe- head to toe.

OMG! IM GRADUATION JUNE 12TH! im wearing a nice dress under my gown. i would go more toward the spring-sundress look because you dont want it to seem to formal or spend alot on a one time dress. stick with bright colors and patterns! =)
