Fruits like bananas, apples, berries and kiwis, give me a nauseous feeling when I eat them. I am trying to figure out why this is? After all, an apple a day is supposed to keep the doctor away...

I eat fruit every once in a while like most people. When I was a kid fruit didn't bother me. I figured that I have developed some sort of allergy, but I don't know if there is a technical term for it...

Hey, don't worry, you're not abnormal.

I ate whatever fruit I liked until I was 10. I ate an apple one day and my throat constricted.

Since then I became allergic to many other fruits and vegetables including raw carrots and potatoes. Also capsicums and tomatoes occasionally make me sick.
For me, bananas and oranges are still the only things I can safely eat.

Other fruits I can eat a little bit of and others I avoid.. I've also grown out/in of this allergy a bit, for instance after about seven years, I can eat 1/2 an apple whereas a bite used to make me sick and I can also eat a little bit of raw carrot now whereas I need rubber gloves to peel potatos now! And they make my sneeze and sneeze!

As far as I can work out (from reading on the internet), it's a particular protein (that cause the allergy).. the good thing is once cooked, this protein breaks down. Do you still get sick if you eat a cooked apple?

You could go to an expert, but I never did.
I just learnt what I could and couldn't eat :)

Do be careful however, as sometimes an allerigic reaction my close up your throat making it hard to breathe.

And believe me, this is an allergy/intolerance, it's not because you eat too much fruit or only fruit or the smell or anything like that!

Maybe your body reacts to the acid content in fruit. I wouldn't worry about it much. You can just take a vitamin suppliment or try drinking all natural fruit juice. If juice makes you nauseous too, you can mix a little water in it.

Oh that sucks! Well you should probably see a doctor or a nutritionist. And when did the nauseous feeling begin? If it just began, see a doctor. If it began in childhood then maybe your body is allergic and does not like to receive them.

maybe its the smell. my sis HATES the smell of a banana n so every time she's around it she feels nauseous. try mixing these fruits with the fruits u do like. like a salad. but before that make sure u'r not allergic to them.

Do you have any stomach problems? I do, and I can't eat fruit anymore, maybe one or two bites. Between fruit acid and the sugar, I hate myself the rest of the day. I do like fruit, but my tummy doesn't.

you might be eating too much of it. I eat a VERY low-sugar diet and whenever I have a fruit high in natural sugar I get stomach cramps while I'm eationg 'cause it's so sweet I'm not used to it

If you are eating fruit and nothing else, It may be your body telling you to eat other things. Although fruits are very healthy and good for us, our body's need other things as well. Protein, carbs, ect.

You may need to develop a taste for it all.

Nothing is as good to our bodies, skins, stomach and hair like fruits...

The ordeal is that I know they are all delicious.....like other fruites as well...

Try to consider the benefits of all for you...

Maybe this will tend to make u get attracted to it differently...

Have u tried fruit salad?

Once u get used to it all, you will regret the days u hated it all..

Do something about it, and watch the differences on your body in & out.

Hope this will make u eager to wanting to get used to it...

Best luck...
