I have had a Gateway 2000, Windows 95 computer for quite some time now. It's been through a lot, and even survived the Chernobyl (CIH.WIN95) virus, though not by much as it has 16 bit color and no sound. I can't bring myself to get rid of it, even despite it's maximum internet usage of 50/60hz. It was my first baby! Lol. What are some interesting things I can do with it? I want to restore the bios, but I know there really isn't much that can be done to it "advance"-wise. It's such a nice simple model, I'd love to mess around with the options.

Good for you. Using a very limited machine is a good way to advance your skills. You have to be more creative to use it. You can make it a file and print server on your network. You can experiment with linux on it. You can make it a hardware firewall. Go for it!

Do back ups, my sister had the same system and lost everything.

I took the system and bought all the inner parts and made a gaming system for her kids. The casings are better on the old systems then the new systems.

Wow! Your computer is a warrior. I think you should definately keep it and network it. Thanks for mentioning the Chernobyl, I forgot all about and now am interested in researching it.
