Go to a vets and get them to give you a wormer - veterinary worming tablets/pastes etc treat roundworms and tapeworms, the most common types of parasite. Don't wait two weeks. You shouldn't need to bring the cats or a faecal sample in.
If you're worried about your own health, your pharmacy can supply you with human worming medication.

Since they are so young, I would talk to the vet, not necessarly take them in though. When my cats got worms, I never took them to the vet, I called and asked why type of worm they thought it was, it was what yours has, the little rice looking thing. And they asked how much they weighed and I went and picked up some pills for them. Its called Droxel, something like that, it worked great. However, you will have to deflea them again, because if you don't they will get fleas from the worms and then worms from the fleas, its a never ending cycle..Good luck!

Might be a tape worm. They can happen when a cat ingests fleas. Since your babies are so young, and I don't like the chemical de-wormers anyway, I would suggest Shaklee Basic H. I use it to deworm my babies. You can give it orally or wash them in it (kills fleas and lice too) and leave them damp to lick it off. It is chemical free and since it is ultra concentrated, it will last a long time. De-worming is not one of the listed uses but it has been shown effective by pet owners, even some cow farmers use it! Its Kosher as well.

I never de-worm my cats clinically. I always ground up and fry hamburger meat and mix it, with the grease (drippings, however you want to call it), with cooked rice. They eat it and it sort of flushes the intestinal parasites. I know alot of people dont agree - they think you need to take an animal to the vet for everything, but this is a tried and true method that my entire family has been using for decades and I swear by it. In fact, I used it recently. Cats get worms and fleas...parasites are omni-present. Good luck.

well, fleas cause those worms that the cats have first of all. and also you can definitley catch it from your animals. i am being serious when i say this now, when you go to the bathroom, look at it and if there is little white worms then you need to go to the doctors and they will give you medicine to get rid of it. and for your cats, since you cant get an appointment for 2 weeks go to a pet store, like petco, petsmart anything like that and ask for deworming medicine and just buy it there. and youll be all set.

What your kittens have are probably tapeworms. They are nasty white colored worms. It's an "easy" fix, just go online or to your nearest pet store and buy a liquid or pill dewormer.
Both cats would need to have the dose once a month (or as described) so you can be certain that they're worm free.
I use Tape Worm Tabs/Praziquantel for my cats.

Check out the website http://www.thepetcenter.com/exa/worms.html
it should tell you everything you ever wanted to know about different types of worms that cats (& dogs) can get. I agree with the previous poster, you should find a new vet that can see your kittens immediately. Depending on what type of worms they have will help determine what kind of illness they may have passed to you.

You should be fine, it is to my understanding that as soon as the worm hits the outside air it will die Double check with the vet. But I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about.

Find a vet that can see you sooner. Ask them if what your cat has can be transferred to humans and go from there. Until then I wouldn't let them sleep with you.
