dominence issues can sometimes occur, especially if the dog sleeps with you on the bed and is more protectiveof one person than the owner's partner or something. but no there's not really a problem, just make sure that you set the rules of the bed (if it sleeps with you) not the dog making the rules. otherwise, snuggle away! i've always had my dog's sleep with me, they're nice warm cuddlers.

There are going to be many differing opinions on this, but, my opinion is that as long as the dog knows its place, and your the alpha dog, go for it. I have occasionally got 5 large dogs and a husband in mine, it makes for a fairly stuffy room sometimes, and if the dogs(and hubby) need a bath, a fairly smelly room too, but my husband is usually to blame for that, not the dogs.

it all depends on the size of the dog! generally it's best to let large dogs to sleep on the side of the bed! But be aware of the dominance issue that may arise if you have a partner!

It depends on you and your dog's behavior. Do you like your dog sleeping on your bed with you at night. Is your dog disturbing? It just depends on how the dog acts. You probably feel safe having your by your side so it's okay to your dog sleep by you.

If you can figure out a way for her to not only sleep in her own bed instead of mine AND steal all my covers, let me know. She's never slept a night in her own plush doggie quarters, so far no ill effects besides not being able to make my bed in the morning because she's still under the covers. LoL

As long as the dog still lets you sleep in your room, I see no problem whatsoever.

It comforts the dog. They like to be with their people, their "pack" and if you shut them out, they don't understand why. Unless it sleep across the doorway and no one can get in or out, what's the harm? I have a bad back and it's comforting to have my two in the bed, because they keep me warm. My late husband never liked it until he broke his knee and found out their warm weight was very comforting. He insisted on their presence after that.

Mine do - they sort of insist on it. If we try to leave them out we get the "hurt look". You know, the pitiful "how can you be so cruel to me" face that only a dog can pull off. Unless the dog is keeping you up at night or stealing all the covers and your pillow let him stay - you know you will be secure. :)

As long as she moves when you tell her to or sleeps elsewhere when you tell her to without crying about it, then i dont see an issue.

just make sure she is de-fleaed and wormed monthly (you dont want those things in your bed!).

my dog sleeps on my bed half the time (particularly when its cold), the rest of the time she sleeps on a blanket on the floor beside my bed.

my chihuahua Roxy sleeps right next to me with her head on my pillow next to mine and on her side. I have stairs for her to get off my bed if she needs to go potty. There is no problem with it whatsoever. It is a bonding experience between you and your dog! I think it beautiful!
