So also whomever promoted the idea that the earth was flat and carried on the back of an elephant.
But I think dolphins are even more awesome.
When all is said and done, it must be because God loves variety.

While yes, elephants are indeed awesome, if we are talking about the same God, he always has a purpose for doing things. Sometimes it may seem like there is no purpose whatsoever, but we as humans are not Gods, (at least, not all-powerful beiings spoken of in religion) and could never know or understand why God does whatever it is he decides to do.

You are using the term God, when the Hindu's worship many god's. But I would rather worship a Elephant than a Jewish Carpenter. Elephants are awesome, agreed.

It's impossible to know the mind of another person let alone a diety. Just sit back and enjoy life and the presence of your elephant.
