My Mom too.
They have to approach you, when they see you in the stores all the time.
Otherwise, if you pay a fee, it is a scam.

Secret Shopper itself is a legitimate business activity. Persons visit businesses and then write up an evaluation of their experience. They are paid a small fee, and are reimbursed for the purchase made at the business.
However, there are scams out there related to being a secret shopper. Scamsters want to charge you money for setting you up as a secret shopper. You do not have to pay to be a secret shopper. Do an Internet search and find companies that hire secret shoppers, and fill out their application.

here is a legit side job that you can do on the internet. you can't get rich quick but you can make $50 a week and every little bit counts and no there are no start up fees http://www.hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?liz8323

Nah, it's real. Good deal for people who have the time to do it a lot -- my aunt did it for a couple of years. She ate free every other day, anywhere from Burger King to Subway, and her car was always filled with gas (so much so that she sometimes had to borrow other peoples' cars to be able to hit the gas stations). She made about $400 a week.

There are secret shoppers, but not nearly as many as your spam would indicate. Best way to get such a job is directly from a headquarters of a retail chain.

Generally, yes, although there are people who do this for real. But they work for the company that they're shopping at. If you have to pay a fee or use your own money for the shopping, then it's a scam.
