How can you judge christians unless you walk in their shoes? What about all the christians who were persecuted and killed for their religion. We follow a god who might not be seen but IS felt. Can you see the wind or the air? No but you know they are there. As for the bible, what reason can you give for not following it?

Yes, I'm a Christian that believes the first five books of the Bible written by the prophet Moses 5,000 yrs. ago is true history. I believe Jesus Christ is God's Son Who gave Himself as the sacrifice needed to pay the penalty of sin. god was Israel's King - they lived under a theocracy and God knows when a city or nation has "filled their cup of iniquity". Only the Creator has a right to destroy. When God's chosen people to take the good news to the whole world (Israel - the Jews) rejected Him as a nation, all Christians become spiritual Jews. Yes, I believe Christians should preach morality and help instead of hurt. That's why many Christian military opt to be medics.

Many people die for there beliefs, some people are called martyrs for their cause. The Bible is the only truth that we all have. I historians has proven things and people in the bible, even though they try to prove that God had nothing to do with it (Which he does!!). How do you know people haven't heard from God? God comes in many different forms, in dreams, through people, through God's word (the Bible), and etc. In the Bible it teaches morals, almost everything America laws are based upon are from the Ten Commandments, so why don't you get your facts straight, and figure out why millions of people die for their country, money, power, and/or fame.

God did not kill anyone in the last 2000 years. Man killed each other. Christianity is twisted by man, who has mistaken the meaning of God and used it to further their own goals. The true faith is love, compassion, brotherly kindness etc. The church building is not where God is, he is in your heart and mind. So is the Devil. That is why it is so hard to be good. God gave us his Will, but also gave us our own will to prove we are worthy.
I have personally experienced a miracle, and I understand a spiritual meaning in the guide book called a bible. I also read other literature like to Koran, Buddhism, Hinduism etc. It's about the spirit. God speaks to us and shows himself when we keep quiet and listen. Can you see the Wind? No, but you can see it's power and actions. So also with God.

I don't know how much you have looked to answer your own questions, but there are some things you need to know about christianity for these to make more sence. The bible was written by prophets and apostle. The prophets and apostles did not write the book for themselves. It would be pointless. It is almost like a journal meant to be passed down. God has always cummunicated his will through a person. This person is called a prophet. Abraham, Moses, and others are all people that have talked to God. They were commanded to relay His will to the people of the time and to also record it for us in these days where God has never been more needed. I am one that does not believe that the bible is "the complete and infoulable word of God" for many very good reasons. Because it was written so long ago and in another part of the world, translations have been twisted and lost over so long. When the bible was compiled by men that were not as inspired as the prophets of old, they chose for themselves what was to be THE bible. There are many instances in the bible that make this evident. EI: An episle is what was called in the time basicly a letter. In the episle books of the new testiment, there are titled letters sent back and forth to groups of people concerning important spiritual matters that are only refered to and not discussed. Either those episles were lost or didn't make the cut with the rest of the bible. This doesn't mean the bible is not true. It just means that it is not complete. Also, some words in hebrew, arimaik, and other languages used by the prophets when translated into latin and other languages did not carry the same mean as they were intended by the original writers. So the conclusion for the 2000 year old book you refer to is that it is really something that is hard to trust with good reason. It would be nice to have a prophet around today to help us know what God would have us believe. That is why there is a prophet today and have been prophets for quite some time. Along with these prophets, he has also left more instruction through scripture. It is, in a scence, another bible. It is a book that contains the ancient writings of prophets and has been presereved for us. It is a book that when used with the bible, supports the writtings found in the bible, but when by it's self is just as powerful and inspiring. It is called the Book of Mormon. When you read the Book of Mormon you will find that it does nothing to take away from the teachings of the bible, but as I said, supports them. It is also refered to as "another testiment of Jesus Christ". This is becuase he also appeared to these people as he did during his ministy. Christ came to this earth to sacrifice himself so that we could return to him. It was through his grace and mercy that we can over come death and live again as he has and echieve eternal happiness. God sent his son because he loves us and wants us to return to him.
For your last question, it is true that "christianity" has "in the name of God" exterminated and slaughtered millions of people. But these people are those that were not inspired by God to do these things. In actuality they were not acting in the name of God, but for their own gain, hiding behind a "valient" purpose. These are the same people that compiled the bible. I am sure some did these things believeing it was for God and righteousness, but were led by false prophets. There was a time that God left the world to its own doing for a time before He could lead His children again. It was actually prophisied in the bible of this. After the apostles were wiped out, there was no one left on the earth to lead the church and all authority to guide it was lost with them. But since the coming of the Book of Mormon, there has and will for now on be a prophet to lead his children until Christ comes again. I hope that in some way you have an understanding of why christians believe some of the things they do. It is definetly something you have to find out for yourself. I can't convince you of anything. Read the bible and Book of Mormon and you will find the answers you are looking for. I believe these things because I have faith in them. Feel free to ask me any questions you have.

its a good question. i myself being raised in an orthodox family (currently atheist) would know that people can preach and do two different things. kids, i can tell you, dont like reading the bible. they find it too long. some adults just come to church to purify themselves from their many, many sins. and for them, it just so happens that the preacher uses a bible. so they dont care as long as they can go to heavan.
the savior that came back from the dead, well that to me too seems farfetched. my theory is that jesus christ died and stayed dead. there was a man who resembled him strongly and so they praise him and all that. now, the man must of liked being praised so he just considered himself jesus himself. that is just a theory.
for the god that has not been seen or heard, i totally agree with you. when i was young, i used to ask,
'mama, how do you know that there's a god?'
my mother would always respond,
'you remember moses was given the ten comandments from god? well those comandments lay somewhere in ethiopia as proof.'
i'd always ask
'have you seen it, mama?'
she would say
'no, but only one man is holy enough to see it. he is the only person to be able to see it.'
my mother never gave me proof. she always said to believe in it. i became an atheist by saying 'seeing is believing'.

Because only by faith in God and following Jesus is there salvation. Because God loved us enough to send his son to die for our sins even though most wan't accept that offer of salvation! He can also be seen in the changes in people lives every day. Try reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis or Case for Faith and Case for Christ by Lee Stroebel. Jesus tought us to love our enemies and to help the poor etc. which is what Mother Theresa was doing with her nuns, what World Vision and Compassion do every day and what thousands of Christians do each day.
You should study some history sometime, my religion has not killed millions! There have been religious wars, inquisitions etc. by those promoting one faith or another but they are a fraction of what those following atheism can count for last century alone. Those that follow atheism have killed hundreds of millions and more. If you look at Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao etc. etc and if you throw in killing unborn babies then it would probably pass a billion no problem! Jesus said to love and to follow him no the Darwin and Dawkins message of we are smart monkeys and every man for himself so at the end of the day I will choose love. I have also studied science and archaeology and history enough to put my faith in God and Jesus!
"There is no incompatibility between science and religion... Science shows that God exists." - Prof. D. Barton, Nobel Prize Chemistry
"Truth is absolute and knowable and must be searched for, but many will try to hide it, deny it or muddy it." - annon.
Foxes Book of Martyrs lists thousands that have died FOR their faith you might want to try readin that sometime! A recent example is Cassie Bernall at Columbine, she would not deny her faith and was shot for it!

well, i believe in GOD because I pray every single day and he listens to my prayers.I pray whenever i have hardships and this isn't a coincidence, it's true. So some people may believe in it and some people might not. It's what they think but do you think that we people evolved from monkeys? Scientist haven't proved about this evolution thing. BUT.. even though we can't see or hear, christians pray to recieve his word.

Take the time to "read it" and you can get ALL the answers you could hope for...it is all in there. I suggest, you start reading, first, in the new testament, in the book of John. God Bless you, and enjoy the Word.
