I have been feeling this severe pain in my right since February of this year. I went to my doctor twice and he prescribed antibiotics and pain killers on both ocassions. now that the medications are well worn out of my system I am in hell. i cant sleep at nights and the regular pain kilers are no use. I went to another doctor who said i dont have any ear infection and reffered me to a ENT specialist. i dont have the appointment until a few days so in the mean time I am curious to know what others think might be causing this.

Usually an ear infection is in the eustachian tube - the air tube that connects the ear to the throat. if it's infected, it should be sore, sometimes nbelow the ear down to the jaw. You may also get jaw and teeth pain.

It's also possible that the blockage from the infection has swollen something (so it hurts because it's stretched) but the infection is gone away, so tests for white blood cells or fever don't find anything.

If so, maybe the doctor can stick a tube down there and clear it out (ouch!!!). yes, you should have seen the ENT a long time ago.

It is hard to tell without checking your ear with an otoscope. I am just surprised your regular doc left you go this long without sending you to an ENT doc. In the mean time use tea tree oil on a cotton ball in that ear to see if that helps you at all until your doc appointment.

try homeopathic medicine:
1)Asa Foetida 1m
2) Cactus G 200
3) Kali Bi 200
A week's dose will cure you.
eat each of them once a day. You can get them easily prepared in pills from some homeopathic store. it can be due to urine infection. water retention in body causing phlegm. narrowing the tube inside ear.
