Have you ever been to Argentina?

Window shopping has been elevated to a fine art there. While living in Buenos Aires, my daughter and I observed many people standing outside, gazing fixedly into the windows of stores.

It turns out that all the stores are locked against 'invasion robbers' and you must get the proprietor to let you in. If you don't buy anything, they call the police. Therefore, people 'shop' earnestly through the windows, and when they're SURE they want to put money on something, they signal to be let into the store.
