I'm looking of buying a new compact digital camera. I have around £200 to spend and want something thats give good picture quality. I was thinking of the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3??? Any advice would be appreciated

The main consideration should always be the lens. Get a camera with the best OPTICAL zoom range (DIGITAL zoom works at the expense of picture resolution). I just got a Panasonic Lumix FZ5. This is not a compact or SLR but a "bridge" camera (i.e. it fills the gap between SLR and compact). I especially like its Leica lens and 12x optical zoom. I got mine on eBay for just £200. Happy hunting!

Well Stuff Magazine rates the Panasonic
Lumix LX1 as a "Supertest Winner", so if you can get one of those at a discount price then that may be worth it. And the Gadget Show reckons the Fuji FinePix F31fd is a good compact for just under £200.

You could combine it with a mobile phone and that's one fewer thing to carry around. Have a look at the Nokia N95. It has a 5 mega pixel camera.
