I am on Effexor XR at 112.5 mg daily and I was just put on clonazepam at 0.25mg in the morning and 0.5mg in the evening to help with my anxiety. Can anyone tell me about their experience on clonazepam? What should I anticipate? Did you have any side effects? Thanks.

It's great for feelings of anxiousness but it is additcive. A friend of mine had to go into the hospital to get off of it. It calms u down but be careful. It's like lorazepam, which is also addictive.

I take 0.5 mg every night before bed, have done this for a few years already. I only take a 1/2 tablet during the day if I REALLY need it. The half makes me very sleepy. I like it but it has caused some short term memory loss. No other side effects then that.

Hello I had been put on it about 4 years ago and it made me a zobie... I liked it cause I was young and it made me feel out of it.. But I was just put on Tranxene 7.5 mg and I like it much better.. I can funtion and sleep at night.. I am much calmer I have two girls and 9 year old and a 3 year old I needed something to calm me down I was always so angry and this helps.. SO if I had a choice between the two I'd choose Tranxene.. Hope it works out for you..

I took it briefly to help get me over the sudden, violent death of a friend. I will be honest and say that the tranquilizing effect on me was HUGE. I actually fell over and got a bruise on my head. But I was given 2 mgs. in the evening.
I know it helps a ton of people, but I think with this med it's always better to err on conservative side.
Try a very small dose and work your way up.
Good luck :)
