EDIT: O.K., i didn't give very good details. In class we learned there are different kinds, like "Advanced" you get them for having like extra credits and other things. Most people get (i think its called) a basic diploma, but there are higher ones, i know this for a fact. Does that help?

At least in the U.S., there is only one kind of high school diploma. You either have one or you don't. You can, of course, get a GED, but that is a substitute for the high school diploma, and not considered a type of high school diploma.

Actually, I think there are four types of diplomas. An advanced diploma, a standard diploma, a revised-standard diploma and a certificate of completion. The last two are for special education students and you cannot get into college with either of them, I don't think. The advanced diploma is for students who have taken college-level classes in high school and have received some college credits (I think!). Hope this helps.

I always thought you either got a high school diploma OR a GED.
