Yes. Unfortunately the King James version is one of the least accurate translations in current use. If I were a christian I'd go with the NIV version. Neither skips any parts of the previous versions of the bible, however the niv version more accurately translates the bible, which will give you a better picture of what the original authors were saying. Look into king James' history a bit if you can.

They are translated by different scholars each contributing their personal beliefs to their translations. For example in the new king james version a verse in Psalms refers to God as she.

the international version is esier for american speaking people to understand. the kjv has all of the old english stuff like thou, art, and stuff that ends with eth.
