The guy who did it says he needs a wiring diagram can't figure out where my "orange illumination wire" goes on the wiring harness.

You don't have to hook up the "Illumination" wire to anything to keep your dash lights. Some after-market head units have an illumination input, some don't. If your new radio doesn't have a connection for it, the wire should just be taped off.

Most likely the "installer" blew the fuse while playing with the wiring. Check your vehicle fuses, and next time, if you're not doing it yourself, get a pro to do it.

I agree, the installer blew the fuse for the dash lites and is responcible. Cut the wire going to the lites and replace the fuse.
Used to get that a lot when working electrical for Ford dealer.
Common problem when aftermarketers mess with what they aren't familiar with. At least yours didn't start a fire.

Well tell him to buy the wiring diagram so he can fix your car since he messed it up.

I'm having a problem with mine too. I turned the heat off too fast and now when it's on hot it gives out cold air.
