Its soft and has been there for as long as i can remember and is about the size of a penny. It is under the skin.

Isn't painful, dosn't bother me at all.

Any ideas what it is?

a fatty cyst very common ,can get infected ,they are easily removed,and are harmless,called a sebaceous cyst no need to see a doctor

Probably a cyst. Most likely an ingown hair that was encapsulated. If you don't like it, it is a very simple and near painless procedure to go into a Dr's office and have it removed. You'll get a shot to numb the area, they'll cut a small slice in your skin.. spread it open and the whole thing should just pop out in a little ball. Then they sew you up and you're good to go!

As Denise says, there are no lymph nodes on the top of the skull. It does sound cystic rather than any type of malignancy. No point in asking us for guesses when he is set for a biopsy. Biopsies are the only way to confirm a malignancy. My bet is that it will turn out to be benign - not a cancer.

OK don't freak but go to the doctor it ia sycht just babby fat in your neck so just go to the doctor and get it removed it could get infected

it is probably a lipoma, simply a lump of fatty tissue, can occur anywhere on the body. wouldn't worry about it.
