Do you know of any good websites about cancers that non-medical people can understand? I'd like to know more about chemotherapy and neutropoenia.

This is a brain tumor. The name is given due to the type of cells it originates in- astrocytes. There are three different types, low grade (front part of the brain), mid grade (middle part of the brain) and grade 4 (which is in multiple areas of the brain). If you are an adult and have grade 4, better start saying your goodbyes, a good outcome is unlikely. Children respond to the treatment better than adults, but most low and mid grade tumors are treatable with a variety of combination therapies (surgery plus either radiation or chemotherapy) and are manageable whether you are an adult or a child.
