Would you want to swap back, would you want to meet 'your' child? If the other parents didn't want to swap, but you thought they weren't looking after baby properly, what would you do?

This situation would be *devastating.* I have a 2 year old, and I cannot imagine finding out that she wasn't really mine, and that someone else had been raising my biological daughter all this time. The thought of handing over the baby girl I've been raising for 2 years to total strangers? I'd rather die. But at the same time, I couldn't live with knowing that those strangers were raising my biological daughter, and I would want her back!
So I would want to keep both babies!! I know that would be impossible, and that is why I say that the situation would be devastating in real life. Heartbreak no matter which way you turn. If someone knocked on my door today and told me they were the real parents of my 2 year old, it would be horrible. Simply awful. I don't know what we would do.
Thankfully, both my girls look so much like me that you'd think their dad (who has brown eyes and black hair) was unrelated to them. They both have my blue eyes and brown hair, and people ask if they are twins all the time (which kills me, because they are nearly 2 years apart.) But finding out your child had been switched at birth would be a nightmare. God bless anyone who actually has to live through such an awful situation.

I don't know since it has not happend to me but....I cannot imagine giving one of my children up after 2 yrs. Or "making a trade"! I would have to say keep the one I have, as that is the one I am bonded to. If the other family is not caring for the child properly that is a different story. I guess I would try to get both. Also notifing the authorities would be a first step.

I would have to swap and get my true baby back. I would want to keep a relationship with the other baby if possible. You know have a play date for the two babies. Two yesr is enough time to really bond with this child. But I would need my baby back, genes are the tie that bond.

I would want to see my child, but I don't think that I would want to give the baby back that I have been taking care of for 2 years. And if they were taking care of my child properly then I would want my baby back as well.

didn't Lifetime do a movie on this.
I think it would be a losing situation that no one can answer until they were in it.
Why do you want to know?
